Not so sure about the air head, eliminates the option to have a bum gun or bidet attachment that would really cut down on the need for and volume of storage space needed for toilet paper.

People want to feel rich. Probably because we've been told that's the Pinnacle. Flimsy and cheap doesn't make you feel rich. The irony is that most rich people don't feel fulfilled and they are still looking for what Rich didn't provide.

In this episode you tell us how many pumps of epoxy it takes and then you ask what value there is for us to watch this video whether we would use this information for our project. I have a Catalina 22 that right now I can't sail. But I am also broke. But I enjoy watching the videos seeing people get it done and how they did it which makes me think about it. But it gets me through a day and lets me experience it as if I was there. Then maybe one day if I can get someone to give me stuff and pay for stuff then maybe one day I too can fix my boat fixed and go sailing again. But until then I watch.

Interesting statement about holes. Would you do that with a through hole as well? Make the hole bigger, epoxy it, then drill out the size of a hole you need for the through hole?

Ya know in Aussie slang language, that is called a 'Dunny.' Oh, and just a little tidbit of info on hygiene and cleanliness from my days of studying Epidemiology and Bio-Statistics, do you want to know another place on your body that is almost equal to or sometimes more filthy than your bum? If you guessed the other end of your digestive tract you would be correct. I think it has been seen as consistent, the filthiest place on the human body is our hair, because it filters the air and we put all manner of stuff in it when we touch it, but coming in a close second place is both ends of the Digestive Tract. That is why we should never share drink bottles or other utensils with someone we are not intimate with. And by intimate, I mean those who live within our personal space, such as a spouse or child, etc. We all share germs and these are no big deal. Anybody else though, they cannot be trusted. End of lecture. 🥸

Well done Aladino you have done the most amazing job on your New Boat. And Mia such a wonderful job of documenting, your camera work has been amazing. I am so jealous of the great experiences you will have in your new home. I am getting closer to getting my own Boat Now and I have learned so so much. As a Single Person I have No Aladino so will have to try and do as much as possible myself.But I am sure I will be able to instruct and know what needs to be done so that in its self is a major thing for me, and to know what tools and products are the best.I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that.

I’ve just discovered your channel - binge watching. I’m undecided if I am watching first for the music and second for the boat work. I love the music and would love a Magic Carpet playlist. You are a handsome couple and a pleasure to watch, your talents are exceptional. I look forward to splash day.

We have been using the Airhead toilet on our boat for the last 4 years. We are cruising and living on the boat. Our previous boat had holding tanks. I would never go back to that. There is NO smell and we empty the solids one a month. We love it! Not having to look for a pump out station all the time. Pee bucket gets emptied every 2 or three day. You will live the Airhead. No nasty “ boat smell” anymore.

I'm presently installing the stanchions, and I couldn't agree with you more!!! Four holes turns into a huge process! I notice you used a long drill bit; did this allow you to have better control over centering the bit? That seems to be my greatest issue
@SailingMagicCarpet3 күн бұрын
In my case it helped, but if it’s small diameter bits they might flex too much if too long. This was also to have room for the mini square. Make a jig if you have an accurate drill press maybe.

OMGLOL "It is, ahhh certainly tiring... to be myself." There is another sailing channel I follow, and the guy refitting their boat has a T-shirt that says simply... "I'm no Aladino." =] GODS I love watching you work, and even more so enjoy the stunning results of those labors. I have told many of the people we crew with about your channel (and his among others) and I always say... Aladino is not just a boat builder, he is an artist, he just uses boats instead of paint or stone... like Maya does with her violin. =] CJ&JD on SV Rocinante =/|)= currently Hampton, VA

Built a little wooden boat once and was terrified after so much work to drill a final hole. I took it to a professional boat builder and begged him to do it, but he said no, if you want to be a boat builder you have to do it yourself. He told me exactly how to do it and all went well. Drilling holes is pretty nerve wracking stuff.

Maya and Aladino, There are several refits and builds going on on KZbin, however..........your refit is, like Leo Sampson's Tally Ho, a work of art. It helps to have a "Swiss" perfectionist at the helm and an "Artiste" as his helpmate. Together, with the input and help from Maya's father (and a host of others), Magic Carpet II is not only a physical and mechanicaly perfect example of quality workmanship and attention......a LOT of attention......to detail, but you have the most pleasing, estheticaly beautiful vessle that we all really enjoy watching her come together. Aladino is an amazing craftsman who doesn't let one little element hinder his progress. And Maya......not only have you demonstrated to us your ability to grasp the "bull by the horns" and dive right in and help, even though at times, it was such an overwhelming trek for you, a beautiful musician, who had to endure the mundane in sanding and varnishing....(very monotonous tasks that try my patience also) wondering when you will ever be done. But the end results is a vessle that will give you both years of pleasing travel in a beautiful boat. All the sweat, toil and effort that you both have expended in the refit will soon be a thing of the past, knowing that soon, you both will be enjoying the fruits of so much labor. We have seen the other side of the coin with work that was not near the quality of your work. Your efforts are stunning. Bravo, Bravo Bravo. We all cannot wait to see this beautiful craft back in the water and you both sailing off to new adventures with Magic Carpet II.And a special shout out to Maya's selection of music to accompany the videos. Having a violinist in my family, I really, really enjoy you playing for us, Maya. Such beautiful, soothing and inspiring music.
