In this throwback to 1994, I was lucky enough to land a beautiful 3mtr sailfish off the cliffs at Steep Point, Western Australia-the westernmost tip of the mainland and a legendary spot for fishing. This wasn’t the species of fish I was targeting and unfortunately I didn’t know hundred percent if it was a selfish until we got it to the base of the cliffs . While it was an unforgettable experience at the time, we now recognize the importance of conservation and protecting these majestic creatures. These days, we celebrate the thrill of the catch without taking the life of such incredible fish, ensuring they can swim free for future generations.
