Looks like you were starting this off as a gourmet food cruise! A multihull advantage... A heck of a lot easier to cook on passage.

WOW, great vlog guys. I'm glad you are all safe. It seems no electrical supplier is immune from faults! At least you had good weather when you need to go up the mast, imagine if you had to do that at night in big seas to fix a sail problem! If I may offer some advice. When it is hot and steamy you can drop into the water behind the boat, but make sure you tie a line (60ft with a big knot on the end) and trail it behind you so you can grab it and pull yourself back into the boat while motoring. Personally I would tie myself to the line at the end, but just use the first 10 -15 ft of the rope to let yourself drag behind the boat to cool off. Always make sure you have a spotter as well just in case. Use a mask and snorkel to help cope with the waves and breathing and wear gloves. It is a great and exciting way to cool off while not losing any time as you go. I hope all goes well. Fair 💨and following 🌊

Thanks for the tips! We thought about it and our friends did and their little boy got stung by a jellyfish pretty badly. The biggest thing was the heat in the doldrums at night when we were trying to sleep. We needed personal misting fans! 😂😂😂

@@HarborsUnknown If you wear the lycra skins that you ladies have you'll be fine, failing that use pantyhose. It protects very well. and rash shirt of course.

Good video. Sailors grow up quick on passages. Yesterday, we finished our crossing Japan to Victoria, British Columbia . Earlier in the Philippines we were around a lot of fishermen. They were often trying to signal us.They seem to point their bows at their nets and lines. Others turn off their AIS when it's clear we 're clear. (I think they probably don't have alternators on the engines.) I tried to figure out what their signals were trying to tell us. I also wanted to move farther out, away from the coast but not into the shipping traffic, just to get out of their way. I was vetoed. We ran over a guy's net and had to later pick monofilament out of our prop seal. Later this same attitude ran over the fishing line I had out... end of fishing. (I call the many meals of **ing hot dogs, Filipino Fisherman's Revenge. And I'd done really well in just a couple of days trolling. ) Spinnaker. Good procedure on the Wanderlust. We had great success with a parasailor (sic) but had a lot of problems from lack of information. We finally got good at it. I'd brought on board several carabiners which helped a lot. A parasail has two sheets and two tacks. We'd hold these together with the carabiners until we could run the dyneema soft shackle through them. We also stored the lines with the carabiners clipping them to the lifelines at the seagull striker (martingale). I would do a lot of modifications to the sail bag to made the procedure even easier.* We were even using information from 'the internet' that caused huge problems. What really helped was learning that we could fly the parasail 60° off center. The perspective on the sail from the two sides of the boat made 'is it level?' difficult. Looking from the saloon was better. (Our last night going up the Strait of Juan de Fuca I did this then checked the starboard side discovering the tack (which holds the sail down and level) was slowly slipping. (It's the wraps on the winch that hold a line not the self-furler at the top. That just holds it in place.) I learned that these are terrific downwind sails, can be operated short handed -- but only with good procedures and lots of practice. By the end of the trip I think we flew it for almost 48 hours. The spliced eyes (loops) at the ends of the lines started to get 'core hernias,' and bulge out. This was in all 4 eyes. I shoved the core back in and then sew/wrapped heavy whipping line around the eyes. Stitching through the core. This seemed to fix the problem. One started to herniate outside the stitching, so I just did the whole eye. These repairs had about 20 hours on them, so barring any better solution from someone who knows more, I'd do it again. If I'd just bought a parasail or spinnaker, unless someone with more knowledge and experience insisted I use spiced eyes, I think I'd just just bowlines. (I tied bowlines on several of our at sea repairs and they never seem bothered by any amount of usage. The outhaul was one. I also used Alpine Butterflies for the two sided barber hauler and the jib sheets (that backed up our self-tacking track.) Stainless steel carabiners were good, no wear. They're heavy and they bend. Heavier duty aluminum locking carabiners did really well. (Sorry to go on so much.) One huge thing onboard: All the little fussy nonsense that just sucks up time. The trick connector on the parasail bag. I'd cut it off and use a carabiner. Also, is there really an advantage to the pelican clips -- that invariably have to be worked two hands -- could a carabiner be used?

Wow!! That’s an awesome trip with challenges sailing around the Philippines and the water full of fishermen, fishing lines and nets. Hot Dog! The Filipino Fishermen Revenge! That’s hilarious 😆 Parasailor: we are thinking about getting one, there is a lot dead downwind sailing crossing the pacific. Everyone who has a Parasailor seems to love it. I agree with you, there are always improvements to best suit your set up. We have soft shackles for our spinnaker sheets. Snap shackles are the common choice but when the sheets go while on deck and the sail flogs they can hit something and definitely leave a mark! Carabiners serve a similar purpose but once they are hooked on something they are a bit harder to unhook. I like your fix to the core hernia, it sounds like the cover is pulling out over the splice. Hard to say without a picture. We have spliced lines for our spinnaker sheets and the seem on, on the other end a bowline knot is also very safe. Thanks for watching and for your comments 💪💪
