Great , hope your courtesy flags went up, have a look at RAN sailing they have a patron page, that dinghy would be a spare on my boat the walker 8 or a sea hopper scamp will take an engine. A pilot to your ports of entry would be fab!and some real Italian recipes and vineyards on the trip love it!!
@SailingBritaly7 жыл бұрын
Hi Sean, yes we flew the French and Corsican courtesy flags whilst we were in Corsica. Rossella and I love the videos made by RAN - they are amongst our favourite KZbin channels. :-) Our dinghy not only takes an engine but planes too! (The reason we didn't have an outboard during our honeymoon was that I built the boat just before our wedding and when I started wasting more time looking for a used outboard engine Rossella vetoed that and told me to concentrate on the wedding preparations [she was right - we had a lot more to organise!]. :-) We now have an old 4hp Johnson that I bought for 50 EUR which works a treat and gets our tender up on a plane. We also sail it around which is great fun. Not bad considering the boat only takes up 10 cm width when it is stowed! We've had 4 adults in it to go ashore and it's pretty roomy... We do plan on making some 'boat recipe' videos in the future. Rossella will feature more of those as I think it's fair to say that Italian cuisine beat British food. :-) Thank you for watching and commenting. Fair winds, Chris & Rossella

Io vivo in Sardegna. Se magari decidete di scenedere sino a qui posso darvi dei consigli. Buon vento!

Grazie mille per il tuo messaggio! Siamo molto contenti che ti stiano piacendo i nostri video, prossimamente ne usciranno altri di qualita' migliore, speriamo continuerai a seguirci! Enjoyed that, I really wanted to take my wife on honeymoon to Corsica but we couldn't afford it but managed to get to the Amalfi coast. Did you get to the South? Porto Vecchio is beautiful, if I had a lottery win that would be when I would move to. I would say when you're back in the UK you're welcome for a sail on my boat but I'm not sure the brown water of the Bristol Channel would live upto turquoise Med waters. As always good luck on your adventures and I hope bump is doing well.

Hi Thomas, thank you for watching and commenting. I'm sure you and your wife had a beautiful honeymoon in Italy, it is a fantastic place to visit. 🏖️ Corsica was really cheap for us, thanks to the boat, otherwise it can be an expensive place to get too. Rossella and I have sailed on the Bristol Channel once, it's a beautiful place in its own right and if you can sail there - with a 12 metre tidal range - you can sail anywhere! Thank you for the best wishes and we hope you enjoy our new videos which will be coming soon... 😊 Fair winds! Chris & Rossella

Thanks for the reply. My criticism was minor but important. Spending so many hours editing is not good. Spontaneous snapshots of your adventures on a regular basis is riveting. Varying the voices is very good. I am beginning to warm to you both in your sailing endeavours which is encouraging. Other viewers will have different views but your standards of presentation will skyrocket. Love from ROD UK

Listen, you should sail across the greek isles....then you 'll understand what turqoise waters looks and feels like! Specialy the Ionian Pelagos. Can you tell me how much money did you spent for the boat? What kind of sailing boat is it? Nice talking to you, iwish you calm seas and fair winds!! Gia sas!!

Hi George, thank you for your comment (Efkaristo!) We absolutely love Greece and we know the greek islands are paradise for sailing. We would love to sail the Greek islands so let's see where the wind takes us!... Our boat is a Plastilupi Half Cast 30, which is a 30 ft sloop built in Italy in 1989. That turns heads I can tell you! :-) There will be more DIY jobs on our channel in the future and we have just invested in a good camera so the quality of our new videos will be MUCH better. Why just your voice? Gets very boring. ROD UK
@SailingBritaly7 жыл бұрын
Hi Rod, I am creating these videos from our holiday photo's and I try desperately to make them as interesting as possible, which takes a huge amount of time. I have just spent well over 40 hours (literally) to edit this 13 minute video. I'm sorry you found it boring - I hope that our future videos will be of a much better quality - we have just spent a lot of money on camera equipment and, now that we will be purposefully filming our sailing adventures, we will have much, much better material to work with. Thank you for not giving the video a thumbs down even if you didn't enjoy it very much. Fair winds, Chris (& Rossella)

Oh Chris, don't worry about it... you're doing fine. You just can't please all the people all the time even if you warn them ahead of time what to expect. But I have to agree with other commenters that Rossella's sparse comments in italian are a treat and could stand to be more frequent.
