That was hilarious - thank you. We are off sailing in Greece shortly and I have been watching lots of your videos to brush up on my skills. They are all useful and informative, and this one made me feel a lot more relaxed about my own lack of competence!!! It's 10 years since I last sailed...but you have shown how to do it and not get too stressed.

Did the flotilla or charter offer you a refund on the flotilla trip since it didn't happen as planned?
@searchingforcoconuts22483 жыл бұрын
@@kevintibboel7756 the company, as well as the booking agents were amazing. We ended up with quite a large credit with them, so we have already booked our trip for next year. We wish we could sail more often but are still working towards our dream, and once we find the right boat, will produce tutorials as well as sailing episodes.

The video has plenty of useful information for others who want to do something similar beside the beautiful scenery. I loved every minute of it. Keep it coming if you can.

Hi, amazing video, I was curious to ask whether you’ve had any troubles bringing the drone into Turkey? Heard they’ve got quite strict customs/rules about it
@searchingforcoconuts2248 Жыл бұрын
hi, yes, we also had info that had us a little concerned about bringing a drone in... we travelled with the batteries in a fire-resistant pouch (in hand luggage), and we were asked about batteries when checking in... after that no issues at all.... thanks for the great feedback, much appreciated

Excellent layout of technical information in tutorials, the graphics with step by step explanations creates compréhensible memorable understanding of the functions of, for example, rigging. My guess is a similar foray into, say, navigation equipment function and purpose would be welcome and appreciated by your subscibers. Regards, Drew.

Fab video.. I love your tutorials too. I hope you have the opportunity to sail down the coast to Kalkan and (especially) Kas, you will be so glad you did - also check out the Greek island of Meis (Kastelerizo) just a couple of miles off shore of Kas. David Gilmour dedicated an album to the area, 'On an Island' in 2009 - I think you will connect. Bon voyage!

You missed the best bit of the med moor at the dock ... you went for the middle of 3 spots and ended up on the starboard one. It's easier if your crew has a boat hook, hooks the bow line and gets it up front quickly, that'swhy the lady marinaire offered it to you first. Once secured you can motor the boat back against it and secure the stern.
@dilligafwoftam9853 жыл бұрын
Hopefully you also decided that the 'mobile traffic jam' of a flotilla is a poor substitute for the freedom of buying a pilot and going where the wind takes you. I sail out of Marmarus and can attest that Turkey is the best cruising ground. Croatia etc just view yachties as mobile ATM's, and Greece is becoming like that. Fair winds.
@searchingforcoconuts22483 жыл бұрын
thank you for your informative contribution... having our flotilla cancelled turned out to be a blessing, and as you say, with a pilot we were not confined to a specific itinerary and cruised as we wished. Next year we plan to sail up toward Marmaris, possibly as far as Akyaka. Thanks again...

Why do all these sailing channels whisper their commentary and then suddenly feel the need to destroy speakers & eardrums with the foreground music?
