Looks like a nice boat on pictures. Fin keel is fine, I had the same on the EdM, just check the rigging properly as it looks a little lighter than on the EdM

hello, I just bought a jeanneau and it has the same backstay adjustment as your boat but the adjustment is attached to the stay directly with the shackle, I think this could damage the stay... I would like to know how you did it on your boat?

Yeah, could be, but also the shackle isn't sliding along the stay? Mine was lashed into the stay with a dyneema lashing

My personal experience with an 8m seagoing boat taught me the most important gear you need is a self steering device. I prefer an wind vane system because of its silence, but you need usually also a power driven one to handle some situations. Without you can't even go to the bathroom and hold your course properly. If you're planning to sail off shore an AIS-system is the next most important thing you need for your safety. Travel safe and with fun, Andi

As Anti said, a self steering solution is the first thing to consider, either electric autopilot or windvane

Thanks to both of you. I recently fitted a secondhand tiller pilot and it is certainly a game changer for single handing, raising sails and going to the toilet is now much easier 😂. I think the next upgrades are to the sheets to make it easier, some of the layout is not the best for sailing by yourself. I dream of self tailing winches but that is way out of my budget unfortunately.
