I was talking to my sweetheart’s dad the other day and he said “What are you watching on TV these days?”. I said “Nothing. There’s enough good stuff on KZbin these days that I no longer watch traditional TV shows.” Your channel is easily one of my favorite channels. Beautiful song at the end and keep up the great work.

Same. I disconnected TV over 5 years ago and entirely replaced it with KZbin. Not feeling like I am missing out on anything. The shows I liked on TV were somehow always canned after a season or two anyway.

I understand how it can be difficult to stay motivated when the balsa repair goes on and on. With your time crunch it must be tough to be spending so much time on this remedial work rather than building her back out to your vision. That said, each week you impress so much with what you have accomplished. The performance was so lovely. Even though the song is about a wedding I could feel some of the melancholy you were feeling this week come through. Such a perfect way to end the episode.

Your team work is impeccable. It's a total joy to see you both putting your best efforts into the refinishing. Yes, it's tedious but your patience is key to getting it looking so marvelous and most importantly, it's seriously water tight and good for many years to come. I love seeing workmanship like y'all are doing. The gratification must be thrilling as you see things coming to a close with such eye popping finishes . Yall truly got it together.

Just loved the ending when you were playing the violin beside yourself. Normally I'm not really into violin music, but that was just so beautiful who could resist? I listened to it about twenty time now and it just keeps getting better and better....so peaceful. I wish you would consider putting together a cd of quiet, introspective music that like this could be played in the background soothing me through my work day. Thanks so much for your beautiful playing!

I think it's the slow and measured competence that most impresses me. The working with the materials. The safety considerations with masks, goggles and foot wear. The scrupulous cleanliness. I can't wait to see how you do the wiring, set up the navigational electronics, local area wifi network or entertainment systems let alone the house keeping systems of galley, head and heating.

I can’t wait to see what you’re going to have to tackle at the stern of the boat in terms of mechanical and electrical systems, the engine, steering, navigation controls and instruments, etc… I’m sure you’ll be as meticulous and perfect as you have been to date with everything else. You are truly an inspiration and an example of how to do things the right way and not try to scrimp by like so many on other KZbin channels tend to do! Great job!

Very pleasing video.. Magic Carpet II will be a jewel of a boat once finished. She will be standing out as an example for how to refit a boat with TLC. I love watching Orion float by in the night sky during your intro. The music continues to please as well! :) Also thinking about your "inch by inch" comment and how it doesn't feel very satisfactory as far as accomplishments go... I think once all those inches complete at the same time, you'll have a dramatic completion goal where everything comes together at once.... so there's that to look forward to! Definitely enjoying following your progress. :)

You are making great progress, the evidence is there in the video. With multi stage processes, the results take time to build step by step. Many of the areas you are working on are in the reconstructing phase. The deck is 85% there, after all the dismantling, decision making, sourcing timber for the deck beams, plywood selection and careful preparation. Replacing the balsa and relining the interior is well underway. The acheivements will be even more apparent at the end of the remaing weeks of this stint in USA.

Maya, your comments struck home so true that it gave me pause to be honest and take stock about what I’ve got stalled on and ended up avoiding over the last couple of years for the same reasons, the inevitable ebb and flow of enthusiasm during a long project. Progress seems to almost cease because you hit pinch points when a number of small but necessary jobs need to be completed before the next big milestone can be achieved. It can be so easy to succumb, thereby achieving nothing. OK, I’m guilty, thank you very much indeed for the timely reminder and for the doubtless unintended kick up the jacksie too. If you guys can do it, I can get my head down and drive on as well. I’m either going to borrow a dinghy or buy a cheapie and get back out on the water, maybe beach up for a lunchtime break, lay a fire and cook some fish up and head back before dark? That’s my plan anyway and I’m going to make it a regular thing if at all possible. I think it’s actually necessary to do it when you’re otherwise effectively working 7 days a week. Time to breathe. Thank you also for the waltz, it was a truly beautiful arrangement and the video production superb. Keep on keeping on, you’re both achieving loads more than most. Cheers, R. 😎👍🍻

Hang in there, talented young ones. It is normal to be out of breath on one long term project. You are doing TWO of them at the same time ! Who woiuld not feel overwhelmed at times ? Plus, your passion is sailing, right ? Not building boats but for their purpose ! If this can be of any comfort to your hearts, you are doing an awesome, so dedicated job to the most minute detail. It's in your genes. "Good enough" is not ! Cheers ! Marc from Varennes, Québec PS I'm working on my own old but much smaller boat, refitting it completely. Been at it for the last 2 years. I’ve felt quite awful as a result of inhaling paint fumes inside a boat; it’s really essential to set up a through draft with fan assistance when you’re covering such large areas. Face masks don’t always have good enough filtration to eliminate paint fumes.

Even doing things like the sanding or prep work is indicative of a huge task completed to many of us who have worked with our hands on various projects. It is so cool to see you get the final varnish onto the deck/ceiling panels and to see them ready for installation. They really look amazing and of the highest quality for any project I’ve watched so far. Major kudo’s to you both for what you have accomplished on both of your boats.

9:45 Excellent choice of Aladino's shirt. It perfectly matches the fairing color under the fiberglass texture.

What a progress MC2 made. Great work, Maya and Aladino. Btw, there are no Fridays without Magic Carpet. Thank you so much for making this happen.

Your boat is looking really great! Hang in there and things will really start coming together fast. I was where you are now a while back with a Bristol 40 that I stripped to a bare hull and am just now finishing. Hope to be in the water in July. Enjoy the process while your at it. Love your videos.
