You guys wholeheartedly deserved a glorious passage. So far, in my first year of boat ownership I've lost a cell phone and a boat hook. The hook was harder to take than the phone as I did not know the phone fell out of my pocket until well after it happened. The boat hook however happened whilst bringing in the flopper stopper, even though I had thoughtfully placed it in a place where it would not fall over. I was anchored, it fell in when I moved a line, it looked up at me and said good job buddy. One is left in a quandary when your device for retrieving shit that falls over, falls over. The water temp was in the 50's so I paused, reached for a spare halyard to toss over it and draw it closer... The hook sensed what I was up to, put it's nose down and dove like a submarine to 65'. I'll buy one that floats to replace it.

Nice passage. Hard to beat a beam reach in calm seas and warm weather. Good on ya for rigging the gybe preventer. Not sure I would trust the midship cleat for it though. The bolts on mine ('85 V42) looked a lot like your bow cleat bolts. Find it easy to rig a preventer using line each side of the boom meeting a line from each side of the bow tied with a bowline. Leave the loose end at the aft shrouds. But to each his own. Looking forward to the new sails.

I would not only suggest not cleaning the dinghy, but I would make it *look* WORSE! The outboard too. Remember when you found the dinghy on the beach after it "floated away"? People steal boats that look good before they take ones that look crappy. ;)

Adam, how is your back holding up? I have sciatica and often run into problems onboard. It can be quite uncomfortable and even interfere with sleep when bad. The v-berth is usually the only place I can do my yoga stretches, which I know is a problem since you guys use that for your shop. I recommend, at minimum, trying to get on all fours and alternate between a child's pose and an upward-facing dog, going back and forth between the two, slowly at first then more quickly. I also recommend trying tennis balls to pressure and release the chakras that run up the spine. Lying on your back, fit a ball underneath close to the spine. Lean into it. You will feel an achy feeling if you are doing it right. After a few seconds, you should feel a release. Work your way up both sides of the spine, starting with the glutes. I recommend trying to keep up a stretching regimen daily, if you can find a way to do it onboard. A sandy beach, of course, would be perfect. Good luck. I feel for ya, mate!

I had my first sailing class (something called ASA 101 here in the states) a couple weeks back. On my first tack of the class (and ever!)I was fumbling a bit because it was also not a self-tailing winch, we were heeling a lot, and I'm a complete noob. The winch got caught in the lifeline and kind of acted like a bow and launched our only winch about 15 feet out into the waves. It was supposed to be a floating winch but it did not. I told the instructor we should give them a bad review on Amazon - he didn't think it was too funny lol. He had similar choice words as yours lol

You guys are amazing. You've been a HUGE inspiration for me for the past 2-3 years now. Well... it's all paying off. I (sorry, "We". I have a new 1st Mate) set off this Sunday. Yep in 2 days (OMG) I can't believe it's here already. I've been awaiting this day for over 3 years. Anyways, so Adam, do you mind if I ask how you found out how many amp hours your boat uses? I need to purchase a temp inverter (due to budget cuts) but I'm not 100% sure to how to test for that amperage output. I did try my multi-meters (both of them) to no avail. any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks RJ and Chantal.

Finally caught up after a week of binge watching! I was just wondering: the cockpit seats that your mum very kindly provided, would you recommend them? The coaming in my cockpit is only about 20cms so no back support and I think they would be nice for some lounging. Also, I have only sailed with white sails and always think I'm missing out without the spinnaker. Is it worth it or are the gains insignificant for daysailing? Love the channel by the way, the content balance is excellent 👌
