Beau and Brandy Sailing

4 жыл бұрын

We’ve spent the last year and a half freely sailing to over a 100 islands in our tiny home on the water, Saoirse. But now with the coronavirus abound we find ourselves in lockdown in St. Martin and any plans that we thought had, have gone out the window. All the islands around us have shut their borders and are not letting anyone in. There are only a few options left for us. Decisions, decisions, decisions… where are we going to next.

Thank you guys for the Thursday evening stress break. I know you two and Oona are suffering being confined on a boat but you at least have the advantage of each other, a cup of tea and beautiful sunsets with no crazy drivers on the roads messing up the view. Take care, stay safe and stay well and please publish your kimchi recipe (spices especially).

G'day. As you both know hear in Australia we just delt with the bush fires now we are dealing with the C-19. All boarders are closed and entry is closed. everywhere else in Australia has no boating activity at all ecept Queensland. the main proplem we are having is panic buying, so from week tlo week it is pretty much grab what you can wait for a few more days then grab some more. For me we went from one extrem to the other in a very short time. I wear a musk when i go out and do my shopping as a lot of people do. social distancing is required to comply with even in shopping centers. so basical C-19 has in some way affeceted people everywear. Gerard.

Bucks Co. here and this over hyped flu season hasn't slowed me down a bit. Still going to work and fishing when I'm not working. The only thing that's changed for me is food shopping (I do it online now) and not driving 1.5 hours to the Jersey shore to go fishing. The Delaware is my new spot... at least until fluke season opens on the 22nd.

Hi Guys, some countries are coming in for huge criticism for being over cautious during this pandemic and other countries for not doing enough, in Ireland we are being very cautious which I'm happy with because there is no coming back from death. @@TheAtma50 Another beautiful thing I see watching these sailing videos is how aware and fair minded people are toward each other and in general. You state your opinion, or opinions, but you aren't demanding that anyone agree with you. You are pretty accepting of their agreements and disagreements - it's so nice to see actually - kinda rare. Makes me feel more relaxed about expressing my own feelings and ideas about things, like I think these small countries are scared of being overwhelmed by sailers who seem better off, or maybe have the freedom to come to their shores from any country anywhere and settle in like it was their home country. Without this Covid 19, people have been doing it for generations, and making friends and loving the freedom to do so. We all need to take care of ourselves and at the same time help others. TAKE CARE PEOPLE!

Yo, I totally don't like food shopping just because of the people in the store. I just did my 1st online order this week and picked it up the next day. If your store offers online shopping, give it a shot. You can enjoy a cup of coffee in your underwear shopping from the comfort of home. It takes all the stress out of it. Best part is, you arrive at the store, check in on your phone, they bring it out AND load it in your car. Kind of makes you feel a little bit like royalty for 10 minutes.

Wow guys, glad you're getting out of there.. What gets me feeling that things are unreasonable or even counterproductive related to not spreading a virus are things like not being able to get in the water to maintain your boat, or walking your dog anywhere on land where you're far from others.. They force you to walk in town.. that's where more people & objects for them to touch are. And in the water a minimum of 100 yards away from others is a crime? Again, makes no sense... Things like that just don't add up. I'm not saying I got a conspiracy theory in mind or anything like that, but I am definitely saying things like that make absolutely no sense, & s#!t doesn't add up... It's my belief that people are smart & resourceful enough to protect themselves with masks, distancing, & hygiene, so what are any of these restrictions in place for?! Because we're completely helpless & careless?? None of it makes any sense to me now that everyone knows the virus is out there, & how to protect from it. God speed on your trip! 👍🇺🇸

Build a Better World the water restrictions are in place so if someone gets into trouble in the water rescue crews don’t get into your 2 metre bubble. Safety first for all.
@joesmania
@joesmania 4 жыл бұрын
@@darrenking3187 I understand that's the claim as far as a rationale for water restrictions, but how many water "rescues" were performed for people at anchorage cleaning the hull of their boats in the past 2 years? None. 5 years? None. 10 years? None?? What are the chances? I understand under normal circumstances with normal amounts of water traffic coupled with normal amounts of different water activities going on, but with zero traffic except for quarantine enforcement out & about, I just don't & won't understand. I'm not a knee jerk type that reaches a position without thinking through all angles & most times researching first. It doesn't add up. If either the rescuers or responders or the responsible group in charge of the responders wants to 100% ensure their safety, maybe they could consider a public announcement that water rescues are suspended for recreational activities, or vessel maintainance, & doing these will be at your own risk... The recent view of society that thinks that they should strive to keep me safe from everything possible via regulations restrictions, or whatever goes against my personal core beliefs & ideas of individual freedom anyway. I imagine most people don't mind being responsible for their own safety, or accepting the consequences if they choose to proceed with an activity or practice. Maybe not & it's just me, but I dislike the idea that big brother needs to agree to save me before I can decide if I want to do something or not... It's my life afterall. I do absolutely nothing thinking if I have trouble it's ok because I'll be rescued by others. I only do things if I feel I have prepared (buddy system, equipment, etc.) & I can handle it, & the chances of trouble are slim to none, & if it happens, it was apparently my time & it is what it is. It was my choice, my responsibility, my doing. I'm still alive after 50 years of doing whatever I decided to do with zero rescues from any agencies.. Is that an unusual view?
@janiosuarez1326

It looks like some robin hoods out there. Glad you're getting out. I hope it is better. Could you sign off with a little more next time? Sail away or something.

If you call that sailing than you better buyba campervan. You don't sail with solar panels but with proper sails. It looks ridiculous!
