Really appreciate how you two are so self sufficient. Able to make a great bread in the middle of the atlantic to jury rigging the genset crossing the stream, and repairing the engine with a corroded pipe. All necessary skills to be a cruiser, and many have them, but you guys do a great job of showing it. The Victory 40 is a great boat but showing her age. Time for a refit!

You two really should have more subscribers. I feel the manner in which you sail is closer to the way most of us sail. A lot of sailing channels, though enjoyable, feel like fantasy. I guess I’m just trying to say that I really enjoy and appreciate your efforts.

Hi guys. One of the reasons for the apparent discrepancy between US NOAA based charts and UK charts is that US charts give depth based on mean low water springs whereas UK based charts use LAT. I think they also use a different datum point as well.

Happy that you enjoyed your time in Beaufort. The hurricane last fall did a lot of damage and it put many of the boats in the Anchorage up on Carrot Island, including that little floating house boat you showed. It ended up in the trees where the trail is you were on. Maybe I’ll see you guys if you pass by again. Enjoyed the vid! Safe travels

Not sure you are aware of the situation in that area of the east coast. They took a terrible hit from a major hurricane last year. I'm surprised they have recovered as well as they seem to have. I noticed the big Blue Heron was a bit worn for wear. I'm sure most of the wildlife took a horrible hit. The damage was tremendous, so I'm sure they appreciate any tourist business they can get right now. Enjoy your trip, and look me up if you get up around Maryland. I'm in the northern part of the Chesapeake Bay, but I can still feed you good info on some of the local places.

Hello: Just found your channel and blog. Terrific. We have visited Beaufort a few times by boat and liked the town, too. I have done the ICW a half-dozen times maybe and think it is one of the best leisurely cruises. I had the same problem with our chainplates on our Aphrodite 101, Averisera. "Ping" is not the sound one likes to hear when beating to windward! If you get a chance to poke your nose into our chilly New England waters, I think you'll have a good time. Best, Norm

Another lovely video! Thanks for bringing us all along. I'm really glad you're enjoying the states, and even more glad that you're liking the Carolina ICW. I'm a couple of years of saving away from moving aboard myself, and that's a part of the journey I'm very much looking forward to. How far north are you planning to go? If you're heading for the Great Lakes, you might pass through my neighborhood!

Hello! We're planning on going up to Maine if the weather is in favour of us, however we might be a bit early in the season as we'll be looking to make our passage across the Atlantic early June, so we'll see how things work out...where are you based?

@@sailingsvborabora8712 I'm right about in the middle of New York State, on the Erie Canal. It's one of the more popular routes for those doing the Great Loop, but a few hundred miles out of the way for your trip.

another fine video ,,,,, something which always puzzles me , been watching your vids since you left GB and can never figure out why the saftey net round the aft pull pit is always so raggedy and flapping loose, seems so out of place in an otherwise well kept boat , why , what am i missing ???

@tomdavis2825 жыл бұрын
Make sure your engine is up to snuff before leaving Havre de Grace, the current in the C&D canal will put it through its paces. Have good ground tackle ready to go, also. Monitor shipping traffic on the VHF, and, for God's sake, NO WEE BREAKS!

No, 21st May! This was our passage last year. There's been a semi intentional delay in footage-to-videos, as we had to go back to England to work for a few months...we're back aboard now, in Chesapeake Bay, so by the time the videos catch up we'll be up to real time, if that makes sense!

@sailingsvborabora87125 жыл бұрын
We were always running a few months behind with videos, as most people do due to editing time etc, but as we had to go back to England to work for a few months we left the boat in a yard...we're back aboard now (at Havre de Grace in the northern end of Chesapeake Bay) so by the time the videos 'catch up' to where we are now we'll be almost real time, with no huge gap in releasing videos. If that makes sense 🤔 so it was semi intentional
