I can remember watching this as an impressionable fifteen year old. It was, and still is, a very good 'fly on the wall' documentary. It's fascinating to watch today [2017].

Never served on the ark but on Snakey. Bombhead wafoo on 820sqd . Remember the Ark steaming alongside in operation Brazex. Great to see the crack in the mess ,cans of tiger and sanmig . I loved the grub on board had hollow legs all 6foot 5 of me cooks called me the Gannet! Hanger watch in the early hours when steam across the pond!

@@Cous1nJack I'm a Finn living in America... All I meant was that the navy provides the ability to move across the ocean and assist allies, not to mention deploy naval defenses for coastal waters. Air craft carriers do have the convenience of being a mobile island in the ocean, very nifty if you need to send air craft to assist someone like Austrailia to sell them some harrier jets or something they might need and you could profit from.

Ah, my sub, back when I was thirteen. NOW, in case you think it’s just the nuclear Bergall that keeps having people desperate to get the hell off the sub (I completely understand, honest I do), you’re wrong. In fact, it’s just another thing we inherited from our namesake, the diesel-powered SS-320. NOW SOMEBODY TELL ME: What the hell is that spool-array looking thing we have mounted on that post, just forward of the Engine Room hatch? I've never seen one of those, before! It looks like old Bergall was off on an interesting errand. Now to mop up all the hundreds of gallons of the Atlantic Ocean that just poured in through the Weapons Shipping Hatch.
