So much sailor swag... when I was young my aunt lived in Japan for a few years teaching English and she would bring me sailor moon toys and dolls and I eventually gathered the entire manga series (which I couldn't read as it was in Japanese but I would look at the art for ages). I had a lot of the 90s memerobilia! I wish I could go, it looks fantastic 💖

Same, I plan to watch it, but every time I plan to do so, I just get intimidated by all the episodes and back out. Also it confuses me where to start, and it seems like a generic magical anime with repeating villains and fight.... Is it good? I might watch it one day....

+Julie Cheng yes it is very good, i might be a little biased, since i watched it when i was a child and it's a biiig part of my childhood, but at least i think it is not a generic magical girl anime, the villains are very diverse and come from maaaany places of the galaxy and the characters and storyline is really great, and most of them have a lot of character development throughout the series, and as of where to start, ideally i would recommend the manga, but if for some reason you want to watch the anime first then sailor moon crystal might be the best one since the chapter count is less intimidating than the original one.

Sailor Moon was one of the early animes I watched when it first aired in America in the 1990s. I also read the manga series when they were first translated and brought over to America. Needless to say I was very shocked at how different the canon manga story was and how the 1990s version deviated from the original story and character depictions. With Sailor Moon Crystal, I really love how they're sticking loyally with the canon manga story.
