Sailwind - Customizing the Dhow

I think the customization options are different in different ports! I've been sailing a dhow-customized sloop, like this one, but with a 'genoa' jib from Dragon's Coast! I want to sail to Aestrin sometime to check the options there.

This is such a good update! I love it so much! Since what defines a sloop (nowadays, at least) is a boat with one mast and two sails, it is pretty much a sloop :)

Been waiting for an upload after this update! The game is still fun, but I'm taking a break after my last sinking. Thinking of putting lateen sails on it if possible so she's more balanced.

Your windward jib sheet should be 100% loose. The leeward sheet is what controls the jib's angle, the windward sheet will just add a belly to the sail shape, inducing excess heel angle. Assuming the physics engine accounts for sail shape.

That makes sense, I'll have to try it in game. I don't think Sailwind currently models sail shape and other secondary indicators.

You surprised me with this mast lift, I hadn't checked it before, which made the rain was dripping on my head. As far as I know, you have to be careful not to sell and buy the same sail / parts at the same time, at least earlier (maybe it was corrected in the patch) you could sell the sail - but for half the price, if you did not cancel this decision and you reinstalled it - in fact, you were buying a new one for 100%. You could lose a fortune by turning mast like this ...

It's still an issue, selling and rebuying the same sail loses a bit of money. I imagine that will be solved at some point in development.

Anytime I customize my boat it doesn't want to turn anymore and tends to drift off course all the time.

Each sail places different turning tendencies on the boat. So drifting usually has to do with tuning how each sail is used to balance those forces.

why? I would go with the biggest gaff and the biggest genoa or with the large latin. what's the reason to not to increase the sail area?

pft took me a week to sail from academy to close to the next island lost any profit had no food left wind NEVER changes I tacked and tacked and tacked for a week and never got closer 2k might as well be a billion gold what they need is winds that change direction.
