SAIN Settings Explained - How to change bot behavior in SP-Tarkov

Small tips here for you guys who wants a more fair but a realistic experience. Disable "Always aim for center mass" and increase the scatter mutliplier to your liking. Personally, I my Thorax/Abdomen gets insta black way too often. With the settings above AI will hit your limbs way more which feels like PvP Tarkov. Additionally you might want to decrease the "Headshot chance" too. I tuned it down to 15% from the default 33% iirc.

Thanks dude. I'm gonna try this as every time I engage a pmc I get my stomach blacked out immediately. I saw that setting but left it on because I assumed it would just result in getting head eyes'd instead lol.

the issue with scatter is that they mostly never hit when they are sniping from over 100m. Keeping the scatter to 1 and increasing the recoil does the same when full auto, but can still hit their shots when sniping you. Higher recoil means lower rate of fire as well

There's also an advanced setting for "center of mass point of aim" that you can adjust a bit to slide it up. Seems as though the SAIN default is "right in the stomach" instead of the chest. Moving it up made the insta-blackout stomach issue virtually disappear, but I got shot in the arms even more than on live (nothing extra hp from SVM can't fix). Despite this, I eventually went the same route - disabling it entirely - but I haven't changed any other settings yet. Still testing whether I like this more than the tweaked center mass setup.

gotta ask, the "Always aim for center mass" is that their ideal aim would be a singular center mass point (roughly located in the stomach) right? where do they aim then if its off? is there a moving point? i would like to know so i can adjust to what i feel matches my experience in regular tarkov

You can also go into the advanced settings and offset where "center mass" is and adjust it upwards to be more towards your thorax, as by default center mass is your stomach (and having to constantly CMS your stomach after every fight gets old really fast)

"Thats Lit" is also a great mod to combine with Sain. It affects AI vision with terrain, grass, bushes, trees, silhouette', etc. Sain has it's own version of "NoBushESP" built in, and "Thats Lit" works extremely well with it. IMO.

Hey StarVox thanks for all your videos. Been playing Tarkov forever but still learning how to use SAIN. Never going back to live servers. Do you happen to know how to make it so the Goons are hostile towards everyone including AI Scavs? It's always been sorta strange to me that they're cool with the scavs from a lore perspective. I like the idea of going into a raid and hearing the Goons mop up the map. Seems like something they would do. So far, I have not been able to figure it out.

What mod can I use to adjust how many bots spawn on my raids? Ever since I used a mod to increase my raid timers, every raid seems to be extremely quiet and if I run into an enemy it'll alway be a PMC and not a scav.

you have two options. you can manually edit server config file for max bot cap per map. probably the distibution of pmc/scavs as well. the donuts mod has presets for bot respawn frequency and possibly manipulation of bot caps. presets for more or less pmc presence exist. all within the f12 menu in-game. donuts' config file can also be edited for max bot cap per map. it seems you might want to use starting pmcs only plus more scavs preset. respawns will continue until the end but pmcs will be fixed and won't respawn. only surviving pmcs plus fresh scav spawns is what you'll encounter late raid.

I actually don't do anything at all for loot and have never really seen the need. If there's enough interest, I could feature something in that regard, but I rarely think about it.

Does anyone ever have the problem where all the robots spawn in but are invisible except their gear. Also bosses not spawning even tho boss indicator says they are in raid

The only thing I could think of is the ai limiter that would not load the Ai that is in the defined range. I've had similar problems when farming Zryachiy, when looking at him from over 200 meters, I only saw his SVD but he was invincible. Until I increased the ai limit range.

Could've been a bug but the other day I encountered a scav that was seemingly "cheating". The setting for cheaters was off, so I wonder if one slipped by or something. It was teleporting around taking shots at me before I finally caught it with a headshot.

Have you or has anyone else noticed bots snap fire reacting to your shots or to you throwing a grenade in under a half second? Usually they snap react and fire 1-3 shots dead center on my chest if im within line of sight. Even when im in buildings i can tell they're lighting up the wall where i am

That's definitely a thing in many cases, mine included. It just takes a little configuration, the presets are designed to be worked to your preferences. Start with the Difficulty group, then move to the General group and adjust the scatter and speed multipliers. Do this all in a raid with bots present and invincibility on to see how they perform and change. You'll get the hang of it very quickly and see how to make the bots both easier AND harder.

I don't care about new maps, we have super stable aki rn and 90% of mods are up to date and more coming. Can't be happier with SPT state rn. Just go into a raid full equipped, bump up the difficulty and enjoy the ride😊
