St. Cecilia
Saint Cecilia is one of seven women, excluding the Blessed Virgin, commemorated by name in the Canon of the Mass. Cecilia lived during the early part of third century, in Rome. There she lived with her noble family, who in the past, were known for their bravery and intelligence. They named their daughter ‘Cecilia’ which means “lily of heaven.” She started spreading the word about God, when it was forbidden by the Roman empire. Cecilia, along with her husband and his brother preached to the people of Rome. Her husband and his brother was punished for doing so, and soon Cecilia was also subjected to punishment.
