I read the book written by a Passionist priest Fr Godfrey Poage CP who was in the Parrish I was raised in. I feel so privileged to have known him that he was able to spread Maria ‘s saintly story. I am also 70 years old. And my middle name is Maria. My mother told me it was because of Maria Goretti. She was canonised only 3 years before my birth. Which was a miracle in itself as my mother and father could not conceive. I knew some of her story, but not all that was just told to me in this video. Thank you Lord that I was chosen to be born. and named Maria. I too cried. Thank you for this video and others in the series. St. Maria Goretti, pray for our youth and their purity . I visited her home and church in Nettuno back in the summer of 1983. I feel so blessed having had that opportunity. My Nonna had a devotion and she wanted me to have the opportunity of visiting such a great saint. She is a great example of how God teaches us to be merciful and forgiving . I met Fr in a church in NY a few years back. He brought a lot of relics from the Vatican . That was such a blessing . Thank you so much Fr Martins.

In Italy there is a Sanctuary to Saint Michael Archangel, in the Region of Apulia, on Mount Gargano, part of the commune of Monte Sant'Angelo. It is a UNESCO site. In the fifth century, Saint Michael the Archangel appeared saying: “I am the Archangel Michael and I am always in the presence of God. The cavern is sacred to me, I have chosen it; I myself am its watchful custodian… [...] WHAT IS ASKED HERE IN PRAYER WILL BE GRANTED. Therefore, go to the mountain and dedicate the grotto to the Christian religion”. If you want go there, enter the Sanctuary and ask the Lord to heal you. God bless

Thank you so much for this story of this Blessed Saint. I was recently diagnosed with a malignant tumor in my abdomen. It was removed on June 26 of this year. I pray and hope in Christ it doesn't return. When I was diagnosed I wept and could not forgive myself for my past sins. I thought my Sickness was my punishment. I finally realized my worst sin was not trusting in Christ grace and forgiveness. His suffering on the cross covers and gives mercy to us all. I needed to hear this message. This is such an intense and important film of a saint! It takes you into the past and makes you feel like you are there…living the moments of St. Maria Goretti. The film contains actual shots of Italy where Maria lived and died. The camera angles, shots and audio immerse you into the story. There is a filming phrase called ‘Hitchcockian‘(from the famous filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock). The camera angels make the viewer feel the emotions of anxiety and sometimes fear. This film has that! (i.e., Slowly walking up the steps to Maria’s room; a floor level shot of the door opening, etc.). After watching this, I recalled the many times this channel has helped me along my faith walk. I am grateful to you and to God for this channel. It has allowed me to become closer to Mary and to see how the saints play a vital role in the economy of our salvation, hence why I really enjoyed this video on Saint Maria Goetti. One last note. I received a physical healing on my left knee during mass on 25 June 2023. Fr. Joseph. Presided over the mass. Thank you Gabby because through your channel. I became closer to Mary. You once responded to me, and said to get very close to Mary on this very channel. I did and thus believe that God,Mary and you were an important factor along with others who prayed for me. I have loved St. Maria Goretti since I was a teenager. I looked up to her for her purity. When I was seriously ill, someone loaned me a relic of St. Maria Goretti to help me. It is so many years since I heard of St Maria Goretti. She was one of the Saints of my childhood.

I cried so hard watching this, I'm still crying. Thank you. ❤ So true, forgiveness of oneself is most important. From that flows forgiveness of others. And forgiveness of others is actually for ourselves, we must eventually let go of all that is in our hearts and minds and souls that is not love. Only then can we be free to be our true selves. BTW, I was raised Roman Catholic, educated by nuns. I made my first Communion at age 8. In preparation, we were told to invite Jesus to dwell in our hearts. I did, and felt the undeniable and unmistakable presence of Jesus in my heart. He is still with me ever since and forever. That same year, we watched a movie about Maria Goretti. I was moved, but your video affected me so deeply. Several years ago, I also asked Archangel Michael to help me and be with me. I felt him do so, and he has appeared very vividly to me while I sleep and totally transformed me. He is also with me always. I am very fortunate that martyrdom is not required of me, the fortitude of Maria Goretti is unique. It makes me especially grateful for, and appreciate, the long and happy life I have, and strengthens my resolve to be worthy of it. ❤

Awesome story. Awesome truth about forgiveness. To think the casted leg in this video was also healed with a miracle in the same way as the first construction worker. Along with the cancerous leg. When the video was made they needed to find someone with a crushed foot. They found someone, but not only someone, a devout believer and trusting young man, who also had his foot restored to perfection through Christ and the intercession of Maria. You just can't make it up.

This true stopped me in my tracks and has got me thinking deeply - simply incredible - what a wonderful little girl - to think of all the life-changing challenges & suffering she’d been through in her short life BEFORE she was brutally attacked and then what she was capable of doing during and after the attack… incomprehensible no matter how one thinks about it, it could be said she was a saint right from the beginning of her remarkable life. This is why St Maria Goretti in this case showed the perfect example of God's mercy: she forgave and fought for the salvation of the soul of her would-be rapist who stabbed her to death 14 times.

Sanctification of an abused child as l see it is side stepping the issues of abuse , proverty and the powerless of girls and women. Respecting, valuing and protecting girls and women is very, very much more than decorum. The Mercy of God is wonderful and forgiveness is a great and glorious virtue to achieve. It might honour Saint Maria better to address the issues of abuse, proverty and powerfuless of girls and women. That might be part of loving your neighbour as yourself.

@@kimkelly7 St Maria Goretti saw life in a supernatural way, not just as a social justice issue. God was at center. Sacrifice is part of worship. She knew there was life after this wretched place. She understood that to be saved, one has to die to oneself in the same way as Christ suffered and died for our salvation through the Passion of the Cross followed by His Resurrection. There is no salvation without the cross. The issue of the abuse of women (and of men also, by the way) is essentially an issue of SIN. The more you live apart from Jesus, the more the individual and society disintegrates and collapses. St Maria Goretti - at 11 years old - because she has always lived a life of spiritual understanding, with wisdom way beyond her age, loved even the most monstrous of human beings, in this case her would-be rapist and murderer. She knew that MERCY FOR SIN is the DIVINE POWER that could transform a rotten soul into a saintly soul, not through a social justice lecture. Her model was Jesus Christ Himself. And true enough, her murderer was converted, turned his life around, and is now a candidate himself for sainthood. MERCY IS FORGIVENESS. Your advocacy for protection of women must emanate from an understanding of God's value for human life in general. Educate humanity properly about God and you will produce a society respectful of ALL human beings. The goal is to stop SIN. That was the mindset of St Maria Goretti. And from there came her understanding of God's mercy.

On Futher reflection, it very troubling that the fact Maria Goretti was a child, an ABUSED CHILD is the very fact that many people seemed to want to minimise; along with obliteration of the self evident fact of misogyny. This is well worth your time to watch. You certainly will be moved by this short video. My wife, Joy, and I have been blessed to see and to touch her casket/reliquary when it came to Tulsa. We went early in the evening to a packed mass celebrating St. Maria Goretti at Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Tulsa, and we prayed for her intercession for several hours, from midnight till after 2am at the Cathedral while it was open for 24 hours to venerate St. Maria. Joy and I were there alone praying with St. Maria for quite some time and have some 3rd Class relics we pressed against her reliquary that we greatly venerate.
