Just a question: As a Catholic I have to wonder, why are there women in a seminary?

Who knows, but it's a nice change. If women and married men were allowed to attend seminary and become priests (and priestesses), it would certainly help out the priest shortage a lot. Pretty soon there will be no priests left except in the largest cities and parishes! Every priest I know of in rural Iowa here is either an 80-year-old American guy, or a young foreign guy. Many have 3 or more parishes to take care of. The situation is getting very desperate and sad.

There aren't women in the Seminary. It states quite clearly that it is St Francis Chamber Choir, (which has women) who are singing in a concert being performed at St Patrick's Seminary.

Jesus chose 12 men to follow Him as proclaimers of the Gospel and Priests. Women followed Him, but weren't called to change bread and wine into the Eucharist at the last supper, or The Supper of the Lamb. I believe as a Catholic and a woman, that God was "replaying" the sin in the Garden of Eden where Woman first sinned, but Adam, who had first Knowledge of the fruit of the Tree of Good and Evil, gave in to her and secondarily to Satan and blew it for us all. This part or the undertones of Redemption that Jesus, second Adam and Mary, second Eve did over with success as God originally intended. The women in this choir with the teens are performing for seminarians, not seminarians as Patrick Storr below has noted.

They, Libera, are professional and tour the world with professional musicians. This is high school musicians and choir with adults mixed in. I think it's lovely and applaud this performance.
