Saint-Saëns "Cavatine" - Jeremy Wilson & Megan Gale

Composed in 1915 by the great Camille Saint-Saëns, the Cavatine, Op. 144 is a widely performed standard for the trombone. I was thrilled to be able to perform and record it with Megan Gale on piano, and I humbly submit it as part of my ongoing Standard Repertoire Project.

Although I'll never come to play this piece, it's a pleasure listening this performance. Wonderful soft attacks of short notes, decrescento at ascenting lines, powerful but at all times controlled. There's not audience in video, so here comes applause, applause.
