Absolutely the best version I have seen online. The director captured every camera shot exactly right, following the music and showing the organist at the right time. The sound engineer is the best. The balance of organ and orchestra is perfect.

Exactly. You could tell that the video producer had studied the score and had more shots of the organist playing than I have seen in a recorded performance. I like when the conductor made sure to bring out the duo pianists for their short but important part. (I once saw a performance in the US where the conductor never acknowledged the organist during the final applause.) What a great piece of symphonic music wrapped into 44 short minutes!

Actually, the conductor is the best, and the instrumentalists are marvellous, too! But I agree that the video realisation is very adequate to the music as well!

Nie tylko wspaniale zagrane lecz również mistrzowsko zrealizowane pod względem realizatorskim. Niskie ukłony dla reżyserów dźwięku - reprezentujecie naprawdę światowy poziom. Tak się to właśnie powinno robić!!

This was a fantastic concert, and a wonderful experience. I couldn't help but cry during the Poco Adagio section of the 1st movement; it was as if the emotion was being pulled out of me entirely involuntarily, from the sternum outwards. The Maestoso of course was as magnificent as the name implies. My sincere thanks to Andrzej Borejko, Piotr Wilszyński, and the philharmonic orchestra (particularly the double bass, my eternal idols).

This work is famous for its exciting last movement, but Saint-Saens provided a feast of musical riches throughout the work, including many of great delicacy (one of my favourite spots in the last movement is the gorgeous rippling sound from the pianists). As always, even with a different conductor to the one I have, in the past, most frequently (and brilliantly) associated with this orchestra, the Warsaw forces give us a performance which is among the best I have heard. And to match this truly great performance, the audio and video engineering, and production, are absolutely first class. I include this orchestra in a small group of ensembles which I consider to be among the world's best, yet apparently remain undiscovered by many music lovers. I am watching this just over 2 years later, when Poland is potentially under threat from Russia - I hope the orchestra carries on through these heart-breaking times.

I often listen to the classical music station while driving here in the Southern California desert. Unfortunately, sometimes it just becomes background music while I try to remember what to get at the grocery store or some other mundane thoughts. I have heard this symphony on the radio and never gave it much thought other than I like it. But for the last 44 minutes I have been enthralled like never before. What a magnificent performance. From the audio, camera work, and the wonderful orchestra just absolute perfection. Even the audience was so polite (no endless coughing). Thank you for the gift of music.

Thank you very much Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra for giving us happiness and joy in these difficult times that we have confined ourselves (the secod face of the human nature). As always, a great performance in every senses of this magical powerfull and wonderful Symphony of this very special and unique genious that covered almost everything, art, science and philosophy almost an total agnostic or may be gnostic .Masterpiece dedicated to the great Franz Liszt and written in the post-romantic genre to which the later generation of Debussy and Ravel owe him a lot of. it is unique how Saint Saes uses a in the brass section and the organ a kind of "protestant coral" it seems to me to be listening a "hymn from the tabernacle choir". GREAT IN EVERY SENSES!

I have listened to more than a dozen different performances of the great Symphony. This performance is not just the best - it is MASSIVE! STUPENDOUS! In every way. I congratu;ate you of this Orchestra, this orchestra which makes me proud of my Polish heritage! But now, in August 2021, I feel so sorry for you great people of Poland, in your struggle against this terrible virus! Stay strong! With time, we should recover!

I share your opinion completely, and when I looked at the concert date realised that it was happening on the dusk of the apocalypse!
I first heard this magnificent work in the 1970s. It was performed in the Tabernacle on Temple Square in SLC, UT. I had not heard it before but oh how it thrilled my soul. I went out and purchased an album featuring this masterpiece. I have listened to it many, many times. I want to, and have, thanked God, our Father and creator, for blessing us with people of great talent who could COMPOSE and PERFORM such thrilling music. Thank you so much

Fabulous execution, which leaves you spellbound! True masters who work in harmony, delicately but also vigorously. Superb conductor. Never heard the third symphony of Saint Saens so skilfully blended, so fine and full of character. The organ is like an older brother that looms sovereign and beneficial over a team full of magical resources. Saint Saens himself would be delighted!

I knew this would be magnificent and it was!!! Bravo!!!! Thank you. (This is not one of my favorite works by Saint Saens because of the devilish rhythms in the first movement - he could easily have simplified it but I think it was his playful nature which made him insert all of that quick syncopation filigree which serves no purpose except to confuse the listener - and sometimes the player - as to where the beat really is.)
@paullewis24134 жыл бұрын
Can’t agree - I think the first movement is absolutely brilliant, then again the whole work is - one of the pinnacles of the Romantic Movement in music. The conductor’s dramatic tempo changes in the last movement are a bit odd. Needless to say the Warsaw Philharmonic respond with their usual highest standard.
