Dear brothers and sisters, let's not forget these words when we are overwhelmed by despair, when our own end or that of the people we love is approaching, but let's work from now on for the new beginning that we will be called to undertake.

I had the privilege of being at my sister’s bedside as she died. She was a cloistered Carmelite nun, a daughter of Saint Teresa, but due to few nuns in her Carmel she spend her last week in a hospice run by the Hawthorne Dominicans. The sister who was her nurse called me to come as she was failing. It was both beautiful and sorrowful. There was joy, though suffering (which she willingly bore)as death approached. She was conscious when she died (she wanted to give her last act of the will to God and He granted her this). Never deny someone the dignity of a natural death. God’s Presence and grace are amazing in those moments. Let them come in God’s time. He will work wonders. We gathered around my sister- my teenage son, my husband, and I, and the nurse who held my sister and helped her hold a crucifix. I encouraged her…. She was almost there! We said the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet…and the moment of death was quick. Not the ragged sporadic breathing that so many have. It was like God just took her hand and her soul went with him. In a flash. The nurse holding her switched immediately to eternal rest grant unto her. Her hand fell with a thud because the animating soul was gone. In a flash. It was so joyful that moment, even though I’d lost my sister. Well I didn’t really lose her. Her name is Sister Magdalene. Pray for her soul (though I expect the Lord yanked her right to Heaven we never presume). Funny coda to this story. She said she didn’t want tears at her funeral, she wanted fireworks because it was happy, joyful thing to be with the Lord! So some fireworks! And maybe the 1812 overture! Her funeral just happened to be Fourth of July weekend. Yes, there were fireworks.

I had a profound conversion experience 16 years ago where God, through our Blessed Mother, strengthened my faith by giving me the unique experience of what I would describe as a foretaste of Heaven with great joy and love in my heart when I was up at night praying the Rosary and Divine Mercy. I had an out-of-body experience close to what St. Teresa of Avila described. I asked Jesus that I would be willing to accept any suffering, including leprosy, in reparations for my sexual sins, having led a life of promiscuity with visits to strip clubs and red districts. I was a prodigal son brought back to life, so I have an immense love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary; having seen the Hearts overlapping each other to serve as a refuge for sinners, I was one of the worst. Pray for the conversion of hearts to know God's infinite love and mercy.

On the 26th of January,2024,a Friday ,in the evening my wife who is a convert just passed away suddenly after drinking some water just like going to sleep! It looked like she just fell asleep...not a word or not a hum..I asked her whether she wanted some more water ,just a hand signal to say no!.We were after a great lunch,all senior family members...all were still there after the lunch.All are so sad and at the same time amazed at her ,such a peaceful death!..Truly amazing! Now all of us are wishing the same.!...Did our loving God accompanied her to His heavenly kingdom by taking her hand!...Praise be to God The Father Almighty! Greetings from Colombo Sri Lanka with love for all the people of good will!...My wife received the Holy Communion on previous Sunday at St.John Dal Bastone Church in Colombo,South...The only church dedicated to the above Saint from Italy!😇🌹🌹🌹

I went to adoration with so many questions in my mind and decided I am going to try and talk to God. I was shocked by his friendly response. I asked God if it was my brain talking back and he said I was created in His image and likeness so everything is intertwined. We talked about my doubt, the sins I keep committing, and the gains and losses of my life. The fact that God responded to me the more I fell inlove with God. I felt like one of those saints who are experiencing visions but there is no way I can prove anything. Now that I have this access to God, I literally do not fear death. I may grieve for my departed loved ones or be afraid of pain but I have tremendous comfort knowing that I have access to our dear Lord, Jesus Christ. St. Teresa of Avila is my hero! Please pray for us!

Mary doesn't guide anyone to Jesus. You might want to read Peter's epistles and see if he agrees with you. Jesus NEVER said the way to him is through his mother. He said just the opposite. He said, "I am the way." The last part of that scripture says that NOBODY comes to the Father but by Him. What did I miss? Where does it say through my mother?
@r.e.gamache7175

We're all familiar with Jesus' entrustment from the Cross of His Mother to John (and Jesus' entrustment of John to His Mother). Mary as intercessor and refuge of sinners is also foreshadowed in the Old Testament in the acts of Rebecca, Esther, Ruth, and others. Mary is Jesus' greatest gift to humanity. She is YOUR mother, too! Pray to Mary, learn to pray her Rosary (for encouragement, see Tammy Peterson's recent testimony (Jordan's wife) on how praying the Rosary led to her conversion). You will have no greater assurance of your salvation than when you stand before the Lord, Judge of the Universe, as a Spiritual Child of His Mother! God bless! @@rbnmnt3341

@@nicky6932 points to her son? What does that mean? Who made that up? I know Jesus said, "I am the way." I missed where he said the way to him was through his mother. I don't recall him saying to even pray to his mother. Didn't he say, "pray to the Father?" Why is it that when you guys put words in the mouth of Jesus or God, you can never provide biblical proof? Catholic theology is based on comments like "don't you think God would have wanted that for the mother of his son." Or "wouldn't you want your mom to be sinless." That is such deeply rooted theology.

@@rbnmnt3341 you also missed the fact the NT Table of Contents is not listed in scripture or fact that the title of each book, the chapter breaks, and all punctuation all came from the Catholic church. You also can't find where it teaches Bible alone, where you are saved by faith alone, or why the Holy Spirit (singular) leads all protastant churches which agree on absolutely nothing. Yet the Bible teaches God does not teach by confusion. Protastantism = confusion. Prove its not.

Santa Teresa of Ávila, pray for my elderly grandmother, your namesake Teresa. She's 90 and has been suffering from dementia for a few years now. When her time comes, may the Lord grant her a peaceful passing and a joyful eternal life. I'm happy she's still with us, though. May she live long enough to celebrate her next birthday in two months. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. make life very, very, very, simple, without forgetting to take joy in the littlest things, the excitement of meeting others after long silences, and placing God at the center of everything: and let everything come from the innermost, deepest part of the heart. My Dad is a prayerful man early 4am he pray talking God for too long asking protection and blessings to us his children. My heart is broken because he cannot anymore talk with us and be with us physically. Then an Indonesian Priest in his funeral mass said Death is not a thing you must be afraid of. It is just a beginning of a person in another journey in his life. If we believe Jesus resurrection and resurrection of the body we will not be afraid nor sad. I don’t follow your interpretation of her statement, “the less we enjoy in this world, the greater will be our joy in the afterlife” to mean that we are called to live a balanced life. American Christians would be well served - including myself - to meditate upon the extent to which our understanding of Christ’s teachings are influenced by the secular culture.

Our Lord said, He will not leave us orphaned... Here in the Blessed Sacrament remains God of all that is and will always be, yet for now He has decided to reside in the Eucharistic Host once again humbling Himself as He dies on the Cross to defeat Satan in this His eternal Sacrifice He is ever present for all time at every Holy Mass then returning to reside in the Blessed Sacrament while sitting at the right hand of the Father still waiting for all of us to approach Him to seek His Holy Face, know His Sacred Heart and run to His Love and Mercy... Let us ask Our Blessed Mother and Saint Joseph for their intercession to know Our Lord more and more and to seek to honor His commandment '' Love one another as I love you '' In Christ's Love, always... I do not see how the idea of one's heavenly reward being proportional to the extent of the sacrificial life endured on Earth, can be reconciled with Jesus' parable in which all the workers received the same wage at the end of the day. Also, we read in Scripture that what awaits every soul that goes to heaven is an eternal weight of glory that is without measure. In any case, all of us should live our lives heeding these words of Christ: "Stay alert! Watch and pray." and "Know ye these things? Blessed are you if you do them."

But St. Theresa also saw in a vision that almost everyone goes to hell even those who confess... Even she was going to hell, and Jesus showed here the place reserved to her, but was saved by his mercy. But she had to live a perfect life after that. She hadn't commit any great sins, just was a normal nun but had been negligent in her prayers. And that meant she was going to hell.

Because of the Catholic church teaching that the soul is immortal, its members continue to accept this doctrine. But what REALLY is the soul ? Can it "leave the body" ? Is it immortal ? No. The soul is NOT something that we possess and lives in after death, for how many have read what Genesis 2:7 says ? It reads according to the Catholic Douay Version: "And the Lord God formed man of the slime of the earth: and breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became ("become", Hebrew hayah, meaning "to exist, i.e. be or become", and NOT put within) a living soul." So, Genesis 2:7 shows that until the first man Adam was "breathed into his face the breath of life" by God, he was a DEAD soul, or a non-breathing soul, for the word soul in Hebrew is nephesh, that literally means "breather", so that anything that breathes IS a soul and NOT has a soul. For example, at Numbers 31:28, it reads according to the Catholic Douay Version: "And thou shalt separate a portion to the Lord from them that fought and were in the battle, one soul of five hundred as well of persons as of oxen and asses and sheep", showing people and animals ARE souls and does NOT possess a soul. At Deuteronomy 12:20, the Catholic Douay Version reads: "When the Lord thy God shall have enlarged thy borders, as he hath spoken to thee, and thou wilt eat the flesh that thy soul desireth", showing the soul is us as a breathing person with all our desires, as desiring to eat "flesh" or meat. At Leviticus 23:29, 30, it reads according to the Catholic Douay Version: "Every soul that is not afflicted on this day, shall perish ("perish", Hebrew karath, meaning "to cut off or down, to destroy or consume") from among his people: And every soul that shall do any work, the same will I destroy ("destroy", Hebrew ' abad, meaning "to perish, causative, destroy") from among his people." And at Jeremiah 2:34, it reads according to the Catholic Douay Version: "And in thy skirts (of the nation of Israel that is seen as a woman ' engaged to marry in its youth ' Jer 2:2) is found the blood of the souls of the poor and innocent? not in ditches have I found them, but in all places, which I mentioned before." Thus, after Peter had healed a man lame from birth, he told the Jewish crowd in the temple that it was through Jesus Christ as "God's Servant......the righteous one" that this man was healed (Acts 3:13), with Peter saying at Acts 3:22, 23 according to the Catholic Douay Version: "For Moses said (at Deut 18:15, 18, 19):" "A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me: him you shall hear according to all things whatsoever he shall speak to you. And it shall be, that every soul which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed ("destroyed" Greek exolothreuo, meaning "root out and destroy completely") from among the people." So, what has been learned here ? That (1), the soul breathes, (2) that the soul desires to eat meat, (3) that the soul can be destroyed, and (4) that the soul has blood. So, what is the proper conclusion of what the soul is ? Anything that breathes, such as animals, including insects and arachnids, and it is us as humans, us as a living person with all our desires, so that as long as we are breathing, we are "a living soul", but upon death we become a non-breathing dead soul. And it need be understood that there is NO purgatory, for when a person dies, they cease to exist, as Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6 states according to the Catholic Douay Version: "For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know NOTHING MORE, neither have they a reward any more: for the memory of them is forgotten. Their love also, and their hatred, and their envy are all perished ("perished", Hebrew ' abad, meaning "to perish, causative, destroy"), neither have they any part in this world, and in the work that is done under the sun." And it also need be understood that there is NO "hell" as Catholicism teaches, for the word "hell" meant some 400 years ago when the Catholic Douay Version was published in 1582 as "concealed", so that when a person at that time was "helling potatoes", they placed them in a COOL place below the ground and NOT roasted them in a fire. At Job 14:13, the Catholic Douay Version reads of Job saying: "Who will grant me this, that thou mayst PROTECT me in HELL (Hebrew sheol, the grave), and hide me till thy wrath pass, and appoint me a time when thou wilt remember me?" So, Job knew that he would be "protected in hell", and NOT tormented, being "concealed" in the grave when he died, and awaiting a resurrection from the dead, as verses 14 and 15 shows. So, the belief in the doctrine of "hell" as a place of "eternal torments for the wicked", along with the teaching of purgatory, that is dependent on the doctrine of the immortality of the soul, are all false.(see Gen 2:7; Deut 12:20; Lev 23:30; Jer 2:34; Acts 3:23, KJV; Catholic Douay Version)

And what happennes to unrighteous souls after the judgement?
@timhaley3459
@timhaley3459 5 ай бұрын
@@peterfest2111 The apostle Paul told Governor Felix in Caesarea, that "I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."(Acts 24:15) Paul is here speaking of the resurrection during "Judgment Day" (Matt 11:22), during Jesus Millennial reign. On the other hand, "the first resurrection" (Rev 20:6), "the earlier resurrection" (Phil 3:11), is the "chosen ones" of the 144,000 "Jews" (Rev 7:4) who are resurrected to heaven as Armageddon is approaching (Matt 24:29-31), and are seated on thrones to serve as "a kingdom of priests and a holy nation".(Ex 19:5, 6), as members of God's heavenly Kingdom, as Revelation 5:9, 10 states: "And they ("the 24 elders", the "chosen ones") sing a new song, saying: “You (Jesus Christ) are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, for you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought people for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings OVER the earth.” Upon their having proved loyal till death and are resurrected as immortal spirit "sons of God" (1 Cor 15:53; Rev 2:10), these then take up their assigned positions as kings/priests just as Armageddon arrives (Rev 4:4), while those who will "inherit the earth" as "meek" ones (Matt 5:5), are the "sheep" that are judged worthy of passing through "the great tribulation".(Matt 25:31-33) These are the ones seen at Revelation 7, wearing symbolic "white robes", denoting their righteous standing before Jehovah, and waving symbolic "palm branches", denoting their wanting genuine peace with him as their heavenly Father. These are "a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands. And they keep shouting with a loud voice, saying: “Salvation we owe to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.”(Rev 7:9, 10) These "are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white (or is "clean" in Jehovah's eyes) in the blood of the Lamb (by exercising faith in Jesus Christ, John 3:16). That is why they are before the throne of God, and they are rendering him sacred service day and night in his temple; and the One seated on the throne will spread his tent over them." "They will hunger no more nor thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat down on them nor any scorching heat, because the Lamb (Jesus Christ), who is in the midst of the throne, will shepherd them and will guide them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes.”(Rev 7:14-17) The "meek" ones who are to "inherit the earth" are seen at Revelation 21, that says: "And I saw a new heaven (God's Kingdom that is ruling over obedient mankind) and a new earth (the "meek" ones, Ps 37:11; Matt 5:5, on the paradise earth, Luke 23:43, as loyal subjects of God's Kingdom); for the former heaven (wicked human political rulers) and the former earth (those who place their faith in them as their subjects) had passed away, and the (symbolic) sea (or restless masses of mankind, see Isa 57:20, 21) is no more." "I also saw the holy city, New Jerusalem (or the 144,000 "chosen ones"), coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look ! The tent of God is with mankind (or Jehovah God casts his "tent" of protection over the "meek" ones), and he will reside with them, and they will be his people." "And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” And the One seated on the throne (Jehovah God) said: “Look ! I am making all things new (perfect, as things were before the rebellion in the garden of Eden some 6,000 years ago, that introduced sin and brought death, Gen 3:1-6; Rom 5:12).” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true."(Rev 21:1-5) The "meek" ones are those seen at Psalms 37, that says: "For evil men will be done away with, but those hoping in Jehovah will possess the earth. Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, and they will not be there. But the meek will possess the earth, and they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.......The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it."(Ps 37:9-11, 29) Everyone who is NOT righteous in Jehovah's eyes, "unrighteous souls" that either fail to qualify for a resurrection from the dead, that are the "goats" at Matthew 25:31-33 or fail in their loyalty at the end of Jesus Millennial reign, are thrown into the symbolic "lake of fire" (Rev 20:10, 14, 15), into gehenna (Matt 10:28; 18:8, 9), into the symbolic "everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels".(Matt 25:41) These all mean everlasting destruction, as Jesus said at Matthew 10:28: "And do not become fearful of those who kill the body (or our fleshly body we now have) but cannot kill the soul (or who we are as a person that can recreated with a new body in the resurrection; see 2 Cor 5:4); rather, fear him who can destroy ("destroy", Greek apollomi, meaning "to destroy fully") both soul and body in Ge·henʹna."
