There is a purgatory. It's in scripture. But Protestants and non-denominational adherents follow so many different beliefs and versions of Christianity and the Bible. They end up interpreting however they want to fit how they want to believe. There are over 20,000 Protestant and non-denominational cults in the US alone. They all teach something different, contradicting one another. Doctrinal chaos! The true, traditional Catholic faith - not the counter church led by Francis of Rome - is the only church that has the true faith. Protestant error and heresies have infected the post Vatican 2 church, and those heresies are destroying what good is left in traditional families and the world.

Purgatory is a condition where the souls of the just who die in God's grace and friendship, experience final purging, purification and cleansing, in order to make them perfect and pure to see God in heaven. Purgatory is an act of God's mercy, love and justice. Though not mentioned explicitly in scripture, the teaching is deeply rooted in scripture: 1 Cor 3:15 speaks of this purging fire through which we can be saved. Heb 12: 22-23 shows that they are souls of the just in Mt Zion that are being made perfect. Mt 5:48 tells us we must be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect. Jam 3:2 shows how we fall short in many respects. Rev 21:27 tells us nothing impure shall enter heaven Heb 12:14 encourages us to strive for holiness without which we cannot see God Mt 12:32 indicate that some sins can actually be forgiven in the afterlife. 1 Pet 3:18-20,4:6 tells how Jesus, after his death on the Cross, preached to the souls in prison. 2 Macc 12:41-46 describes how Judas Maccabeus offered prayer and atonement for the dead to free them from sin. 2 Tim 1:16-18 show how Paul prayed for the soul of his dead friend Onesiphorus There are ample scriptural and historical evidence that prove the existence of purgatory. Please let's be open to the Holy Spirit to lead us to the fullness of truth that God has revealed in his Word. Shallom

It helps to remember where you were when you started finding your way back to Him. The problem with this journey of salvation is that you get caught up in His Love and you want everyone with you at the point you are at... But you forget that you got there with Grace, which they don't have, so of course they think you are crazy! Take yourself mentally back to where they are and relate to them from that perspective... Send a video once in a while but mostly pray for them. Jesus can soften any heart but trust Him to do it, surrender this problem to Him, it's not your words that will sway them... It's Him.

Because the place where I was when Jesus finally reached me, was a very dark and lawless one, this is why my family thinks I am crazy. I went from being a total party girl, looking into and experiencing all kinds of different philosophies and non-western/Eastern religions; to almost instantaneously "on fire" for Christ...wanting to give up Everything to follow him. You are correct, my zealousness scared the heck out of them. I wasn't really preaching so much as changing everything about my life. My one sister said "you make people feel guilty". I was surprised. I thought I am nor making Anyone feel guilty! Maybe it's the Holy Spirit showing people what they should and shouldn't be doing; but "it's too much work and too difficult to change habitual behaviors and thoughts" etc.. I know because I used to tell God that too. I have told them that "these ways and thoughts (Gospel) are not My own, but God's! and, "Hell is a real place, and you can go there, no pun intended" It's scary. I think I scare them. But that is it really....I want to scare The Hell out of them, so that we can all be together with the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit in Heaven forever .

I have very deeply hidden, crushed, dormant, stunted anger over my mom, her broken relationship with God & with me. I need help but i don't have insurance so i had2 quit my counseling cold turkey. I do seek help & will do a "Healing the Whole person" retreat soon but I am living with the effects if my mom living in the sin of ignoring what she did to me and the way our family functions, dysfunctionally, formed around her complete failure of faith. It makes me sick but i have always been "obedient." I cannot speak up despite how God asks me to. I did see the prayer posted for me. I know God helps me everyday. I am just still neutered & impotent, completely frustrated and hurt & facing this situation now at Thanksgiving. I need more help.

Yes, I agree about Purgatory but God also knows that it was only because He first loved us that we are made capable of loving Him in return. Without Him creating that love inside of us, we would be incapable of truly loving.
