So value never is a total loss. $10 hotwheels don't resale at garage sales for 50% the original price. I put my collection up for bid 8 years ago. 14000 die cast of different assortments. I left a minimum bid of $5000. The highest bid was $500. Fair market value means absolutely nothing up my way. I mentioned thrift stores and flea markets have been good finds. Car shows and swap meets have been the best place to look so far. You will find guys with totes of wheels for 3-$1. It took me 2 hours but I found 1 of every major muscle car made. If I had more time...they also had hotwheels construction equipment. The booth also had the original shop kits with hoist, and tool boxes. Antique stores are all over the place around here. Worth looking in to.

got lucky today,showed up about 12noon at my local Target and employee was unboxing 3 new cases!!
