The criticism of GTA IV being too serious and not fun back then is why GTA V turned out the way it did. Now the Rockstar community is saying that GTA V is too arcady and not serious enough while acting like GTA IV was a flawless masterpiece. Those Nostolgia glasses are crazy, man. Saints Row 2 is sublime. I love it’s perfect blend of grittiness and absurdity. Idol Ninja's 'Gentlemen of the row mods' take it to a whole'nother level that I hope the new Saints Row takes on board. Also, this edit is hilarious. Thoroughly enjoyed!

What people don't understand is that SR2's silliness was grounded silliness. 2000s sub-cultures. Like the humor is mostly in the characters, and smart adult comedy. It was never what the series later became defined by to reviwers where wacky went from just sitcom humor or movie references to cartoonish, abstract, fantasy, and surreal random inserts like aliens, demons, stoppig a nuke with your hands, or all the stuff that they did jump the shark with in the later games. A lot of people think SR's silliness comes from things not making sense or the childishness of the later games, but thats not it. The later games, is what lost its sense of grounded in logic or real life inside jokes. Not simply making some ugly boss, color them green then say the whole series was just absurd. No.

I played SR2 and SR3, they are such a great time, impressive how you can see the devs put fun in the main row as the force guiding them. I'm more into a mire realistic and well made open world; it's waaay harder to make a good game out of that concept than a more arcady and crazy game. To this day only Rockstar managed to do it with Red Dead Redemption I and II and GTA IV; and I'm pretty sure they won't be able to achieve that anymore

yeah when I play I want to have fun, not to stress like being at work. SR just gives me that fun and laughs. Nothing serious and all jokes even on the most serious SR2 (thanks to Johnny Gat's humour, Shaundi and Pierce). Playing Cyberpunk, GTA (to some extent feel like working to me man. Like stressful and not fun)

My cousin once disputed that the station wagon wasn't the best demo derby car in Saints Row 2. I remember listening intently, taking on what he was saying and mulling it over, but the next thing I knew I was waking up the next morning. My mom called me into the kitchen, her voice quivering, and she told me that my cousin had died right after I'd come home that night. I was shocked, mortified, even. I couldn't believe he would've taken his own life, not after having been so happy just hours earlier. I still can't remember what it was he said about the station wagon, though. Nor can I remember him owning the three different guns, two cars, the grand piano, and the inflatable pool he apparently used to commit suicide with. What a way to go.

I'm surprised the bikes being able to drive up walls if you wheelie into them. You can go straight up the tallest building in the game. There is one brand of bike that was easier but I can't remember what it was.

As much as I admire the brilliant editing skills and the fantastic humor of this video, you could've made fun of any other game that actually has bad reviews, I didn't mind that you included Cyberpunk, you didn't have to make fun of GTA IV too simply because it isn't Fun like you said so... It wasn't meant to be a Fun Game to begin with, unlike Cyberpunk, yet it still one of those games that can be cherished, loved, and appreciated like other games including Saints Row by Loyal Fans such as yourself... *unlike Cyberpunk.* This was the point where Rockstar decided to grow up and be matured with their games to be created for matured audiences.... until GTA V that is, but I don't mean to be biased and sound serious at all. All are Considered Different Kinds Of Masterpieces which makes these games Unique and Special, all has Flaws including missing other stuff that it lacks and can't always be enjoyable, but the only times games were considered truly fun is when we truly appreciate their existence that we are willing to take the time to actually play them and come back soon again.... I don't know about Cyberpunk. Nevertheless, I actually enjoyed this video, it was genuinely fun to listen to and having to make a lot of sense at the same time by making accurate points. I'm surprised you actually have a small amount of subs, but with the Entertainment that you were able to deliver with this video, you deserve more. I hope that your channel quickly rises high along with anyone else's.

I always felt it had the perfect balance of drift and control. So many modern games make driving a floaty mess where your difs are constantly locked forcing you into constantly over/under steering without the controls or corrections you might have in a real car. Between the mechanics and music it has my favourite driving of any game.

Even before gta 5 came out. I loved how Gta4 is. Serious storyline with the great humors. Not to mention they gave insane buildup character to the protagonist Niko. Slowly build up storyline in a step by step form. Rare to get a game like this in today's gen. Played saints row 2 though. You just cant compare between these two. One is a game with little restrictions filled with comedy. Other one is a serious storyline with great humor. Both aces on their individual perspectives

Being real though I recently replayed through SR2 after seeing the trainwreck that was the reboot and god did I love my time with it. Last I played it was when I was a 14 year old cringe edge lord and my memory of that time is less than stellar. I just turned 24 recently and saw it on the Microsoft store for like 10$ which imo is a steal considering how much fun I had replaying it.
