I had the great privilege of seeing these guys in 1974 at a small college auditorium that to this day, was the best concert I ever attended! They were at their best with the original lineup, just like in this video ...among my peers, they were well-known and much appreciated!

It is really beautiful seeing Andy Powell solo for hours with Wishbone Ash. He has been the only constant member of the band for nearly 55 years, but he is often obscured by a lot of other rock guitarists from that same era.

I remember listening to WA in the early '70's when I was in college, but I don't remember them being this good. How come it took me 40 years to really "discover" these guys? It's a shame how many things we come to appreciate late in the game or, worse, after they're gone.

Jeezo! i was groovin' on ZZ Top back in '73. How the hell is it that I'm just now discovering Wishbone Ash in 2021??? Can't remember this ever being played on KMET back in the day. Know what? It's still all good because it's new to me now when almost everything on rock radio sucks. Glad I found it! BB
@beeragainsthumanity14202 жыл бұрын
They never really had any radio exposure... Blowin' Free is probably one of their more popular songs. It puzzles me too. I've been lucky enough to have dug this band since '75, after the album "Argus" came out ('74).

Since the live version of this song is on the 'Pilgrimage' album, that's probably why they left it off 'Live Dates'.

It doesn't matter what I believe. It only matters what is. Either I sense beauty very well or I don't. I'm not in competition with others in this regard. The only arrogance is in thinking that we matter. We should all want to die forgotten men. We should like all the colors equally. They each have a unique function. Yellow is a happy color etc. Colors in themselves have no beauty. Beauty comes in what's done with them. I need a pickup truck. You drive what you need. We marry our soul-mates.
