Actually, the Carolinians aren't native to the Mariana Islands; they're native to the Caroline Islands located in the FSM. They are, however, an accepted culture in the CNMI, despite numbering about 5% of the total population.

To get an idea of how massive WWII's battles in the Pacific Ocean were, 55,000 people were killed (Japanese and American soldiers) in the invasion and battle of Saipan. That is the same number roughly that America lost during the Vietnam War which took ten years!! Yikes what a friggin battle!! StocktonRob

@1:14 Those women's on those dresses were called Hanbok we Korean wear those for tradition way. >>en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanbok They were not all Japanese that serve to fight in the Marianas islands, a lot of them were Koreans that fought at those islands and lose their life's to build those military airfields in some islands, is a mandatory thing to serve for the Japanese empire, or with disobeying is a punishable to death and for females they were forced to be married or punishable to work as a brothel worker a.k.a (sex slaves) for Japan. Here is a link for those that want to watch about the story of comfort woman. >>kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6S3amqXrcSLmJI 35 years of Japanese colonial rule (1910-1945) was a deeply ambivalent experience for Koreans. The US never launched a nuclear strike against Japan, the bombs dropped on Japan were atomic bombs, not nuclear bombs. There is a huge difference in the amount of destructive power between an atomic bomb and a nuclear bomb. The nuclear bomb was not developed until long after WW II>
@lamanchamediatube
@lamanchamediatube 6 жыл бұрын
Great point. I'm no scientist. But quick Google search resulted in the following which indicate atomic bomb in fact is nuclear, just not thermonuclear. Do you have a link to share otherwise. Very interesting. Thanks timesofindia.indiatimes.com/What-is-the-difference-between-an-atomic-and-a-nuclear-bomb/articleshow/1345040.cms and www.livescience.com/53280-hydrogen-bomb-vs-atomic-bomb.html
@rapier1954
@rapier1954 6 жыл бұрын
La Mancha Media It is true what you say but the problem is that in the general vernacular people who speak and use the word nuclear use it primarily to refer to the nuclear deterrence today which is thermonuclear and for the most part the term is not used to refer to atomic weapons like those used in WW II.
@rapier1954
@rapier1954 6 жыл бұрын
To use the term nuclear bomb when referring to an atomic bomb without noting it was one dependent on fission is not accurate but confusing because of the way the term is commonly used.

@lamanchamediatube
@lamanchamediatube 6 жыл бұрын
One thing interesting about the Philippines is there was a time of which you speak when those born there were, or could, become US citizens. Some Filipinos in the US never knew they were citizens until they had to defend self in immigration court and learn they derived citizenship by a us parent, even though born in Philippines.

the f*ck? Which history books are you wanting it to be in? How else would they have appeared on Saipan? Out of thin air? Germany held control of it during the around 15 years leading up to WW1, as part of the League of Nations division of German held territory after the war, Japan as the closest member of the League to that territory was mandated control of it and any other class C territories which were north of the equator in the west pacific. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Pacific_Mandate
