Saitake 7007X - Telescopic Controller Review

In this video, I take a look at the Saitake 7007x telescopic Bluetooth controller for Android and iOS. This controller also goes by the name of BEBONCOOL Mobile Game Controller, ESYWEN Phone Game Controller etc.
Works with games like Fortnite, PUBG, Call of Duty Mobile with keymapping, and also supports many games, emulators and services like Asphalt, Modern Combat 5, Geforce Now, Steam Link, Dolphin, PPSSPP and Pizza Boy etc. I wouldn't say it's the best controller out there, but it's certainly good enough minus a few drawbacks, check out my review to find out more.

That was a fantastic in depth review. I wish I had known about the accuracy of the sticks and the lack of analog L2 and R2 before ordering this thing a week back, otherwise it seems like it's the thing for me.

Nice video! What do you think of this for xCloud? I do have actual Xbox controllers with the phone clips but they're top heavy and uncomfortable for longer sessions.

Thanks, it'll work really well with xCloud as long you don't play FPS games, the analogue sticks aren't very accurate and have lots of deadzone, so games that don't heavily rely on the analogue sticks should be fine. I'd love the Wee 2T but in Australia the cheapest I can find it is for $80 AUD (plus shipping) whereas the 7007F I can find for around $35 to $40 AUD (and free shipping) so I'm looking at over double the price unfortunately. I've heard the sticks are bad, but just how bad are they would you say? Are they good enough for single player or PvE first person games (Doom, Fallout, Destiny, etc)?

@@zachmo9587 Thanks for subscribing. Maybe consider looking at eBay for the Wee 2T, it's possible someone might be selling one localy but second hand. 7007X shouldn't be too bad with PvE games but if it realies heavily on anaologue accuracy, then you should avoid.

Very useful review!!! Did you notice if the gamepad overall was noisy? I have a Ípega and it's impossible to play on the bed at night because the button click is too loud and annoying.

Thanks, yes it's fairly noisy, but not the extent that it's annoying, but that's only during they day. I think at night time, it'll be annoying, especially for anyone sleeping next to you.

Yeah, the analog dead zones makes it bad for FPS games, so I need to check out another telescopic controller that has better accuracy. Damn, you're right, that would have been a better thumbnail.

My faithful iPega 9023 needs replacing as L2 is moving the right analogue stick (H/W issue as a firm press stops it happening). This might just be the controller to replace it. What's the cheapest alternative that would have pressure sensetive triggers? I only use to play emulators and Google Stadia on my OnePlus 8

Would you be able to give me any advice on how to get the controller to function correctly on Android? I have this exact model, but even though it's connected to my phone, it's not working right as X-input. Half the buttons do nothing, the d-pad opens random apps, and none of the emulators even detect the controller to allow for remapping. Super frustrating.

Hold down home and select until all 4 LEDs flash rapidly, that will put it into X Input Mode, pair your phone after that.

I've never seen the buttons light up, but that's good because backlit buttons wouldn't be good for battery life.

What difference between Saitake 7007x and 7007y?

7007X has Home and Menu buttons, but 7007F shows Android and iOS buttons instead. I believe some people also having connection problems with 7007F, the 7007X has been perfect for me with no connection issues. Not sure about the 7007Y I'm afraid.

It's not a stupid question. This controller doesn't seem to work with PC (Windows) using Bluetooth, but if you plug into the PC using a USB cable, it works. If you are looking for a controller which works with PC using Bluetooth, the only one I have tried that works with Bluetooth is the new Shaks S5i: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaurlqp5iMpkY5o Otherwise you can use any of the controllers I have reviewed with the PC using a USB cable.

If only the analog stick was more precise, it would've been good for Cod Mobile. Also it would be cool if we had a Dragon Ball game for ps4 playing through the beginning of the story as Kid Goku like the one you were playing on the Nintendo emulator.

@@HyeSo_ I have a xiaomi mi pad 3 and it have a mediatek chip, it does not work well, the app provided (ShootingPlus) could recognize the inputs but any other app cant. The app can simulate touch inputs so maybe it can be use in games, but i dont recommend.

It has been a while since I tried it, I think I had to use an application called Antimicro to map the mouse and keyboard buttons to the controller. Without the app it should just still be detected as an Xbox controller so it should still work. It's not a great controller for Windows though, much better options out there.

I've not tried PES 2020 but if the game has touch controls, you should be able to map the buttons using the app shown on the review.

Man these phones are confusing lol, the Saitake 7007x can hold a phone with a maximum height of 160mm, you can push it to about 167mm but that's it. Check the dimensions for your phone, if the height is below 167mm, it will fit.

All emulators go fine, I could Edit The Keymap setting Up sll buttons But un Yaba Sanshiro emulator, when I Go to settings in Edit Keymap, when The pop Up screen to start with "Up" (and you have to press the Button to register It and so on) nothing happens...It is annoying really... I updated The yabanahiro 3.0.4 The latest One (PRO version) and...It is a disaster .. un yabanahiro settings I select The controller , It is recognized by The emulator as "STK-7007F1 Consumer Control" Then I press Edit key mapping , and the popup screen appears whoing me UP (to press the Button I want to pair with) , but nothing happens when I press the digital pad, ir any Button... The emulator does bot recognized when you press the buttons of The controller when editing key mapping. If It move The stick ir The digital pad Ir only select "Skip" or "cancel" but It is not recognized as The "Up" action... It is a pity, with others controllerd (Glap Play controller/Dragon Slay titan controller ) but with Saitake there is no way... Could you help me if you see any ppssibility to do It ???? I have the 7007F and it sucks so bad. The recommended key mapping app is awful, octopus doesn't recognise it and I have constant analog drift on the right stick after just one day of use!!
