I loved the framing of the episode as Diet vs. Exercise. I thought the matchup was chosen just because the characters are both known to have insanely overpowered punches, but it didn't occur to me until I saw the episode that they also have the thematic similarity of both getting their powers from mundane healthy lifestyle choices as well

I suppose that technically, Dracula, Thor, and Raiden are all older characters than both Popeye and Mickey. Probably some others I'm forgetting. Though the specific versions used were obviously a lot newer than that, so in that sense, Popeye really is probably the oldest DB combatant so far.

Toon Force kinda takes the seriousness out of a fight though, so in theory, the non-Toon Force character would just be alive and well the next day. Cartoons don't follow continuity, so that in itself should have as much an atmospheric effect around the non-Toon character as everything else would. Exactly the same way that cities in cartoons are always rebuilt the next day as if nothing happened. Then again, if we exclude Toon Force in Death Battle, then Batman (for example) has been re-used how many times? Two times? Three? They'll be fine.

Theres been many well animated fights over the decade. Voltron v Megazord, Balrog v TJ Combo, Jack v Afro and many other examples But this. This was such a wonderful fight to see. Every second was special and the ending felt right in ways. Showed both characters so well as did the voice acting Easily Top 5, even Top 3 episode if you as me

One bit of feedback, I find it really hard to focus on the conversation when there is whispering in the background my brain just auto focuses on that instead for some reason. Honestly, Popeye is such a nice dude that you can assume he already did it off-screen (notice how he doesn't crush the egg out of spite or anything). Also, no one in cartoons suffer any lasting harm anyway, and since Saitama was dragged into that mess in the first place, you can also assume that he'll come back just fine (a loss is still a loss).

Popeye survived his universe being turned off. Reverse-Flash doesn’t have anything in his arsenal compared to that. Doom would likely have the best chance against Popeye simply because he has access to magic, but ultimately Popeye would win in that scenario. Between him and Saitama, there are many combatants that would get axed off damn near immediately.

Another season of DB has come and gone. Can’t wait for next season, and as always here are some of the franchises that I hope to see featured in future DB *Hunter x Hunter* With how popular this series is, I’m genuinely shocked we haven’t seen one combatant from HxH in a DB. I mean if it’s as popular as I’ve been lead to believe, why hasn’t it been featured? *Hellboy* Not so much a franchise rather than a character. Hellboy is a great combatant for DB, I’m honestly kinda surprised that we haven’t seen him yet. Maybe it’s because there aren’t any good opponents for him? I’ve seen Akira Fudo from Devilman, but not many others. *A Certain Magical Index* I don’t think this series is as popular as most of the others I’ve listed (though I don’t think that’s a problem when DB considers combatants), but that still doesn’t change the fact that I want to see characters from this series in a DB, especially since half the cast has their abilities grounded in real world science. Personally, I really want to see Accelerator, but I can’t think of many good opponents for him, I’d also like to see Mikoto Misaka (probably against Static Shock) but I’d hate to see her die. *Kaze no Stigma* Yeah, I don’t think a lot of people know about this series, so the chances of seeing it featured in a DB are close to zero, but nevertheless I want to see it happen. I think Kazuma Yagami would be good against Zaheer from Legend of Korra. *Bionicle* With the vast amount of combatants with unique abilities, I’m kinda surprised that Bionicle hasn’t been featured in a DB. There are so many good combatants to choose from, I mean if MLP and Transformers can be in a DB, why not Bionicle? *Homestuck* Since I’ve heard about the series, I really want to know more about it. Plus the vast amount of combatants from the series would make for great DB’s. Some have said that this series isn’t all that popular, but again that hasn’t stopped DB before (Bucky O’Hare anyone?). *Magi* This is a series I’d love to see in DB. There are a lot of combatants to choose from that would make for great DB’s. Though I can’t think of many good matchups off the top of my head, maybe Aang from ATLA vs Aladdin? *Predator* Again, much less series and more character. With the vast arsenal the Predator has at his disposal, making him a DB combatant is a no brainer. I have suggested he fight the Arbiter from Halo, but that’s probably a stomp in Arbiter’s favor.

Popeye's powers aren't super strength and durability. They're weird toonforce shenanigans. Here are some of his powers: Can punch someone and cause them to grow incredibly large, then land unhurt and shrink back down to normal size (Bluto circling the Earth after being hit would have to be absolutely massive in order for us to see him). If he was hit that hard, why wasn't he disintegrated? Can negate the weight of any object and turn them completely massless. Pulling that canyon closed with a small rope means that canyon either weighed nothing at all, or that rope is stronger than Saitama's clothing. And wouldn't a chunk of the canyon rock just break off when that much force is applied to it? (This also explains why when Popeye hits someone so hard, the ground he's standing on isn't turned into dust) Can hit something and produce metallic hooks, a metallic rack, a wooden stall, and several slabs of cut meat.

Your calculations are wrong, your analysis of things are flawed and your general research is bad which led to countless debunks and the god awful Ben 10 vs Green Lantern video which debunks itself when you rewatch it. If you don’t want to actually put in effort in being correct, then at least put a Disclaimer before your videos, saying something like: "this is a personal project, we do not say our results are the finest and absolute, but we still tried our best. I have a question about how the animation is made, do you simply tell the animator who should win and they make the animation? Or do you give them specific notes to show in the video? Like how Popeye can come back from nothing, and if so, how much creative liberty is granted?

They talked about this long ago! They said the way it works is they tell them who the winner is after their 2-3 week long debates with all the evidence they collected for both fighters. They tell them the winner then tell them the key fighting moves or significant abilities that needs to be seen cause they are key to the fight and then just let them have at it!

Where can you submit Death Battle ideas? I have a “shocking” one: Laxus (Fairy Tail) vs. Raiden (Mortal Kombat Franchise). Both have crazy lightning powers, can morph their beings into lightning and have powers/tools that have been used to their advantage (Raiden has his lightning bo staff and mastery of multiple martial arts while Laxus can use lightning dragon slayer magic to eat lightning to gain his power back as an ace in the whole)

Popeye didn't just inspire Mario, Mario is quite literally a version of Mario or knock off. The original Donkey Kong game was supposed to actually be a Popeye game. However, Nintendo couldn't get the rights, so they changed Popeye, Bluto, and Olive into Mario Donkey Kong and Pauline.
