Many of our biggest conversations in the production (and hopefully we'll get more videos up) were the color schemes that ran through every character. Duke goes red by the end of this show, Chandler dies in a pink dress (because her red power is weak; muted pink), McNamara wears a blue and yellow dress to show her friendship w Veronica, etc. JD went from being in blue underneath his black trench coat to eventually just wearing all black.

It's one of the ways we tonally shifted the show. You have to take care of the audience and not surprise them w a trigger such as suicide attempts; they won't respond to it - so by making the show darker as it went on, you help prepare them without them even realizing it.

"You're Welcome" and the revised "Blue Reprise" are in the high school version, and a bit of the material is changed to make it more "P.C." (which - in our humble opinion - hurts the material).

While I do prefer the Broadway, I really have to hand it to this guy. He performed JD fantastically, and a role as big as that is not at all easy to fill! Plus, I really do admire the way he belted out the song despite how passive the audience was. One thing I've learned over years and years of theatre is that the only thing harder than performing to a large audience is performing to a _quiet_ audience.
