I would love it if in the FGC we adoped "tatsu" in place of "quarter circle back" and "hado" in place of "quarter circle forward." Saying QCF and QCB is so laborious, and anyone who's ever played a fighting game can get on board with what tatsu and hado mean after just a tiny introduction. "What's tatsu HP mean?" "Quarter circle back into heavy punch." "Oh, because that's the motion you use to get Ryu's spinning kick?" "Yeah." "Ah. Sweet."

That was the whole point of numpad notation. Not only does it tell you how to do the move, it also tells you what happens to your opponent when they get hit by it, or how the move behaves on the way to your opponent.
