這對手戲真的精彩， 10:40 皇太后那瞬間秒變的冰冷眼神幾乎要殺人，而如懿則沉得住氣，穩穩應對眼前這座快要爆發的火山，兩者間對答的一來一往，眼神表情的變化，太細膩了。嬛嬛當然是聰明的，只不過是如今邁入老年，心中親情更重了，事關兒女自然會稍微慌了方寸，所以才被如懿提醒了。這也是這部劇寫實的地方，很多時候，只有為人父母了才會改變心境。

16:28 Ruyi is so eloquent in her speech, but her eye contact KILLS. Her conscience is clean, but she knows what the Empress thinks of her and how she's calculated against her. She puts on a smile and honestly wishes for the best for the emperor, which so conveniently tears down the Empress and Princess and whoever is in Ruyi's way. They go mad with guilt and frustration knowing that Ruyi is right. Ruyi knew just what to say to get the Empress to stand up and declare so loudly that Ruyi ought to go and teach the Princess as the Emperor said to--not one word over or under.

Ruyi delivering that blow to the princess was such a beautiful clapback scene. The princess is so arrogant and entitled so it was nice to see her be put into place but not my emotion but by tradition. Ruyi knew if she had been empress she would have to give up her daughter as well if she was in the same circumstance. I loved ruyi mouthing off to the empress. It was great

Had the Empress or, Noble Consort Hui had half a brain and befriended Ruyi, they would have ruled and been happy and safe. Instead, they allowed petty beliefs, suspicions and their maids and eunuchs to insidiously feed them ideas which led to their ultimate downfall. The Dowager Empress finally realized how intelligent Ruyi really was.

@@ellenhage3611 Absolutely, which in turn would have nullified Jai's shenanigans and allowed more children to survive. That is what happened in Love like the Galaxy. The Empress and the Concubine worked hand in hand and respected one another.

The Empress failed to realize, or forgot, that the Empress Dowager got to where she was by successfully scheming against numerous rivals in her youth. She was a pro.

She was too focused on Ruyi and eliminating anyone children included who stood on her way. The way children were being picked off really surprised me that the emperor didn't really pick up on it until Wei wan I think with the memorial flags Ruyi made.

@@lisathomas4916 she was so focused on preventing Ruyi and Consort Gao being mothers because they ranked right below her that she forgot that daughters of the family are often married off to Mongolia and other clans to secure and consolidate alliances. Ruyi and Gao both could’ve have daughters to be married off… and she thought the Dowager would willingly sacrifice her remaining daughter for the sake of more power.

So was Ruyi recommending reverse psychology to the Dowager? She would pressed for her own daughter to be married off like her other daughter to the Mongolian clans, hence consolidating her power and influence over them. She should advertise that fact and the Fuca clan will realize that she would grow too powerful and influential. The Fuca clan will pressure Jingse to be marryied off to gain some of that power and prestige for themselves.

Yep! If it's known that Empress Dowager wants to marry her daughter off for more power, Fucha Clan won't let the Empress keep Jingse. In addition, the Emperor is already side-eyeing his own mother. If he knows that his mother has his eyes on more power, he will be more inclined to marry off Jingse as well

Ruyi no fue muy lista. Con ese matrimonio, Ruyi se ganó el odio y el rencor de la princesa. Además, la Emperatriz Viuda se alió igualmente con la Consorte Ling. Y la princesa también se alió con la Consorte Ling a causa de ese odio visceral que tenía por Ruyi. Debió ponerse de parte de la Emperatriz Fuca, así la princesa no la odiaría tanto. Se dejó llevar por sus impulsos y su odio, y solamente consiguió que la princesa le guardase rencor. Era mejor tener el rencor de la Emperatriz Viuda, pues de todas formas se hubiera aliado sí o sí con la Consorte Ling. De esta forma, la Consorte Ling consigue el apoyo de la la princesa y además el apoyo de la Emperatriz Viuda. La Emperatriz Viuda jamás se lo iba a agradecer.

I have no doubts, had the empress been on Ruyi's side, her only remaining child wouldn't have been the one getting married off. But then again, she also would've still had her son too if she weren't so nasty 😂.
