Not saying this is the case for the creator likely in question/referenced (who knows tho), however a lot of those types of POVs are meant to gain the trust of young girls, both of age and not. It’s a reiteration of the “nice guy” trope, but presented in a thirst trap. In reality, this is the bare minimum and people both men and women (etc), do this to gain leverage over more vulnerable or emotionally susceptable individuals.

My theory is that Jason went missing because he somehow time travelled back in time and is now Jackson's father/grandfather? Jackson mentioned he got the necklace from his grandfather, and possibly his dad got the red gatorade thing from his own dad being Jason.
