They don’t put the infant on the shoulder. We had a burping cloth that became soiled as the baby burped after its feeding. That’s how we got the air/gas out the baby - that it swallowed. To prevent colic and bellyaches. She rocks him back and forth. There’s no real physical touch or smell between them. She admires but not so much intimacy. Maybe that changes in time?
