I had a Sako 85 in 30-06 and I had lots of problems with ejection. Five diff types of ammo and 95% of ejections would fall back into the chamber. All the Sako rep could suggest was put on high rings (like in this vid) or turn my scope so the bottom sits on the right side. I got rid of the gun. I’ll never buy another Sako rifle if the action still has the ejection blade in the 6 o’clock position. At the price point of these rifles there should be no flaws whatsoever.

I have this rifle in 270 wsm!!! I am considering buying a javelin bipod, but in order to install the bipod you have to remove the front sling swivel stud from the sago rifle, but I have no idea how to remove the stud? Can you help please? Also I need to know what size screw screw information will go into the hole where the stud was so I can know if the bipod will work.
@Gunroomtv3 жыл бұрын
The stud is easily removed by putting an Allen key of the correct diameter through the hole and using it as a lever to turn the stud. Don't worry about what size screw you need for the Javlin, they all come with a selection of different ones!

@@Gunroomtv thank you, I appreciate you getting back to me. I would also like to know if you would recommend getting the regular standard version bipod or the longer one? The longer one is only a few inches difference as it Extend a little bit higher

Tikka T3x Super Varmint or a Remington 700 SPS Tactical, talk to @bluefieldsports on Facebook and they will be able to sort you out!

What do YOU consider strings of shots (3,4,7,10 rounds ) ?
@Gunroomtv5 жыл бұрын
It's a personal choice with regards to the number of rounds fired. A string of rounds would in our opinion be a magazines worth. Being this was a .308 in a sporting barrel, it doesn't take long to heat up, and as stated in the video nor does it take long to cool down. This being a stalking rifle you are not expecting to fire more than 2 rounds at a time. One to kill the animal and the second as a backup in case the first round doesn't hit the mark. Thanks for your question, hope this helps?

It's how the video is cut, we remove long pauses in the footage which can make it seem as if he's jerked the trigger.

It's silly to put a large Hubble type scope on such a medium/light weight rifle. Would completely destroy the balance. I have the same rifle incidentally and in .308.
@Eman30375 жыл бұрын
I am a firm believer that you should use whatever works for YOU !! Being critical of someone else's rifle setup IS quite silly ! Enjoy YOUR rifle setup !!
@zeissOholic5 жыл бұрын
If that setup works for you then you obviously haven't had much deer hunting experience. I have formed my opinions on such matter after 51 years of deer hunting on the other side of the world to you and I'm entitled to them just like you. I notice you didn't mind voicing yours. I don't think you really thought about what I said rather you concentrated on the PC clap trap angle. I'll repeat what I said in a different way. It's plain stupid to put such a large heavy, high scope, on a trim relatively lightweight rifle. It defeats the whole purpose of such a rifle.
@Eman30375 жыл бұрын
@@zeissOholic Shhhhhhhhh !! That is your opinion and I am entitled to mine. 51 years of deer hunting or not....You sir are a Jackass !! If you are a weakling and don't want to carry a rifle with a larger scope (on any type of rifle) don't, he doesn't mind. Maybe because of where he hunts or because of an eye problem, or he two scopes for that rifle, one a lightweight, low power scope and a larger, more powerful scope for longer range, you don't know all the facts so shhhhhhhhhhh !! I am sure you've been told this before (probably by your wife ) "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." Shhhhhhhhhhh !!

@@zeissOholic Not really, you can put down a deer with a ruger american rifle offhand at 250 yards. That’s enough performance, idk what the extra 2500 dollars in the sako give. If you are looking to hunt at longer ranges might as well buy a ruger precision rifle. Sorry if I talk about ruger too much, but their quality at such low prices is just too awesome.
@zeissOholic4 жыл бұрын
@@johncarl5505 I agree Ruger are good value for money.
@mwnciboo3 жыл бұрын
@@johncarl5505 Absolutely true, I wouldn't trash Ruger, but quality wise it's like comparing a Mercedes with a Bentley. Now a Merc, is superb for the money, there are no issues at all - but that extra 1-2% Qualitative difference is noticible in things like the door perfectly weighted hinges - all the little things that add up. SAKO is an heirloom - you will hand it down over the next 100 years and it will be prized. Rugers can be as well, but they will always be functional, not masterpieces.
