As a small taste, currently there's a Naval attack helicopter competition for 30, 40, or 50 helicopters. Being considered are: AH-1Z of Bell Helicopters UH-60J/JA fitted with pylons and weapons by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Airbus didn't even enter the Tiger as a competitor (lmao, in real life they kinda suck for maintenance and some users are very unhappy with them, like Australia which is replacing them) AH-64E is possible, from Boeing Leonardo's AW249 is possible (A129 mangusta successor with like 40% increased maximum takeoff weight. Whatever it ends up being, it'll be bigger) Sooner or later, a lot of stuff could be added. I know the JSDF tested a 75mm SkySweeper on a Type 61 chassis, radar guided proximity fuse SPAA. Mai was researching it before she died. It's possible the OH-1 had air-ground weapons * tested * but we know they weren't in active service. I can't really think of much else sadly. A lot of stuff they tested, like rifles, isn't really very applicable to War Thunder.

Hilariously enough one of the best ways to bully Russia is with a Russian vehicle since they have no effective SPAA (outside of 1.5Km) at that BR range unless you get a full up tier to face a Tunguska. then again russian AA has always been crap outside of the Shilka/Tunguska brackets

If this can be 9.7 why they ruined the A-129 (specially the under-armed premium) with a BR increase? ATM this is the most expensive GE heli so... I wonder if the US tree gonna get a repainted AH-64A as a replacement premium? Also the new Heli PvE just not worth it. I made less RP than I would in a ground assault if I only play a heli, and I even finished 1st for an insult 7000RP!

Is not the German Ozelot AAA the counter for this?? It has the exact same range (20,000ft) with all aspect missles and is at 9.3 while the MI 28a is at 9.7. I watched Phly's video on it and I don't see how he had those matches and never faced the German ozelot which is a nightmare to face and at 9.3. I see no one mentioning this. Why is that? If the Mi-28a needs to go up in br above 9.7 then should not the Ozelot go up also??

The Ozelot is retarded at 9.3 so it is still difficult for me to say that the mi28a should go up in br when it has no air to air missles and no thermals. If they give it those then by all means move it up in br

@@Desode Well, on one hand, sure it has no thermals or AAMs. But on the other hand, it has 16 Ataka. Compare this to, say, the AH-1S Kisarazu, with 8 TOW-2 with half the range, half the speed, and a punishing launch window. A far worse cannon. That thing gets 30 countermeasures. This one gets like 120, doesn't it? In some ways, I'd prefer to use this chopper than an AH-64A. The missiles are probably genuinely much nicer to use than Hellfires in their current state. The YAH-64 I don't think has thermals, doesn't have IRCM, nothing like that, but it's 10.3, with 16 missiles that in practice are probably worse. I think it should be 10.0. More generally, I think we need decompression and an adjustment of where AA and helicopters are relative to each other, but this helicopter is absolutely not the equal of an AH-1F or AH-1S or whatever. It's far more powerful than every single helicopter at the same BR.

Then there is the type 93 for japan with the same thing, 20,000 ranged AA AND IT IS EVEN lower at 9.0. AND then China has the PGZ04A at 9.7 and Yep thats another AA Sam with a 20,000 ft lock on. Isreal has the Machbet at 9.3 br and YEP another 20,000 Sam. So that is 4 AAA with Sam AA that can kill any aircraft at the same range that the mi-28a can kill them. Does Sweden never face all 4 of those??? There has to be some country that has a Heli at this range that can counter these 4 AAA vehicles or do we then move all of them up? Let's be honest here,are we really going to see Gaijin move that many vehicles to 10.0? That would be the best fit I would imagine. I guess my point is, that if we have 4 AAA'S at 9.7 and even lower, clear down to 9.0 that have the same range then how can we take away the only heli that can defeat them??? It would make more sense in my opinion to make the match making better so the Mi-28a faces the 4 countries that have counters for it. It is very similar to the Ka-50, it just lacks Vikhrs and have some minor differences. There are a lot of crazy underBRed additions this patch. This thing, the PUMA, the Begleit and possibly the LAV-AD are all undertiered.
