The 80's were a golden age for saxophones. People often think of the synthesizer as the dominant instrument of the decade, but the sax was every bit as prevalent. There were scores of hit songs that featured its signature wail.

@billygarvey6336 жыл бұрын
Lukas Bulle this is focused on saxophone use in pop and rock music rather than in jazz where it is very prevalent and easy to find. There are also tens of thousands if not more unique saxophone solos and melodies so that it would be very difficult and subjective to find the "best" ones. Some of them are also extraordinarily difficult as played by the masters of the instrument

because that is who should be up there because of more reasons than i feel like typing. this stuff isnt good, and its not complex or musically challenging or revolutionary, like giant steps was, or donna lee, or for simpler music, something like parkers mood or impressions, which people are still learning from that music nowadays.
@sequoyahcisneros87196 жыл бұрын
Jazz I know, I was saying that I dont know why I was expecting those things is because most people on KZbin are there for the hype not for the quality, and they see sax is this stuff, not part of what changed the course of music.

Chill, goblins. Interpretation. You don't have to stick to the sheet to play music. If you're any good, you know when to throw yourself in the music, overtake it, and make it whatever you want it to be.
@ricetomeatyou8524 жыл бұрын
Daniel Purdy You can have an opinion on what music sounds like without knowing how to play. Of course it’s better to be understanding and appreciative of the artist and skill it takes but I don’t like that argument, it’s like saying “Oh yeah why don’t you go play sports instead of watching”, it’s because we’re the audience

Brilliant! I really enjoyed this performance! I was hoping "Yakety Sax" (Boots Randolph) and "ABC & D" (Blue Bamboo) would be in your repertoire.

I don't think that song gets much play by this video's target audience., Neither does Whatever Gets You Through the Night, The Logical Song, Us and Them or a litany of offerings by Tom Scott.

I think that was played on a tenor. I'm a huge pink floyd fan though.

The BEST Infinity I've ever heard anywhere, and no video devoted to just that song. Depressing.
