BABYMETAL is the only club in SG that didn’t get new members, it just split off and became its own thing, this was a unit shuffle. They all swapped places.

@@Anu_metal I think that Koba relies very heavily on MIKIKO's guidance about the supporting dancers. Both Kano and Momoko are considered to be two of the best dancers to come out of Sakura Gakuin.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 💓 ⏰ Su graduated on March 31st 2013, about a year after this performance. This is a shuffle-unit, where members cover a song from a sub-unit they're usually not a member of. It's not BABYMETAL specific. BTW, one of the tall girls in this video is Ayaka Miyoshi, the bad ass from 'Alice in Borderland'. The other tall one is Airi Matsui, also a successful model and actress. In the middle was Marina Horiuchi. She's been in several Idol groups, including the new one, Healer Girls. She has also done a bunch of voice acting, and is a regular cast member of the kid's TV show 'Kinda Terebi'. BTW, at that same show Moa, Yui and Rinon covered a sleepiece song ('Medaka no Kyōdai' - 'Killfish Siblings') and Ayami, Hinata and Suzuka did a Mini-Pati song ('Happy Birthday').

During the SG shows they would sometimes do "shuffle units" - the members of one of the sub-units would sing and perform a song by one of the other sub-units and then the members of another sub-unit would sing a song by the first sub-unit and so on. In this one I think it was Marina being Su, Airi and Ayaka being Yui and Moa.

Yep that is definitely the 3 girls. I think it worked ok, Ayaka and Airi are the same size like Yui and Moa. It sounded like most of the vocals were live. Except the ones that have vocal effects.

This is from the first graduation concert. All the girls performed as part of a unit that they weren't usually in. The two tall girls are a year older than Suzuka, the shorter one (Marina Horiuchi) is younger and just released her debut solo album about a month ago. As for you getting confused over dates, this is a common thing I see. The "nendos" run (or more accurately ran) in line with the Japanese fiscal/academic year (April-March) so the 2011 graduation was in March 2012. Suzuka graduated March 2013, Yui and Moa in March 2015. Covid messed this up with the 2019 Nendo ending in August 2020 and the current one will end in August this year.

This was part of the live show where everyone switches sub-groups for a performance... The lead singer is Marina Horiuchi, who is normally in SleepPiece and Twinklestars and who becomes president after SU in 2013. Airi Matsui and Ayaka Miyoshi, who are normally in Scoopers are in the YUI and MOA spots. SU did Mini Pati with Ayami & Sato while MOA and YUI did SleepPiece with Rinon .

Oh wait you don't understan what's going on here? Ok this is what i came to know. From left to right those were: Ayaka Miyoshi, Marina Horiuchi, and Airi Matsui. This was an special event in wich all the SG clubs switch roles and play songs from their respective clubs, Airi and Ayaka belong to Scoopers club (the one who does interviews and such) and Marina belong to Twinklestars and Mini-Patty club. I don't know all the details but i suppose the joke here was to do some kind of alternative world in wich the lead singer is short and the backup dancers were tall, contrary to original BM, althou Marina vocal skills is not so far from the top ones in SG like Suzuka or Ayami Muto, in fact recently she release her brand new album with beautiful songs, hopefully you will check it out like we did one day because she's also a lovely human being

So this is the unit shuffle they had where different members from Sakura Gakuin filled in. Su, Moa and Yui are still in the Sakura Gakuin at this time. The singer here is Marina Horiuchi. Airi Matsui (L) and Ayaka Miyoshi (R) filled in for Yui and Moa. They don't do tributes that often, there's 1 other time that they did it where Kano (current avenger) was in Moa's spot.

Yes they do this every year at the SG festivals. Best one I've seen was Maaya as Su, Marin as Yui, and Kano as Moa, which all now know that Kano went on to become an Avenger the very following year.

fyi, su was being the leader for the group in 2012 nendo (nendo is a phrase that commonly used for academical year in japan). and she leads them from May 2012 until March 2013. so, she actually graduating in March 2013, even though the graduation event still says that is an event in 2012 Nendo.

I don't have much information about this presentation, but amuse had some shuffle units during the Sakura Gakuin decade... Doki Doki Morning: March 4, 2012 - has Marina, Ayaka and Airi; December 8, 2013- has Hana , Saki,and Aiko; Onedari Daisakusen Dec 7th, 2014 has Aiko & Megumi; Gimme Choco! October 9, 2017 - has Maaya, Marin, and Kano (Kano is one of the avengers, and she got Moa's place during the shuffle... it was shown during the weekly web-show that SG have, and during this program, the teacher AKA Mori-sensei in a joke asked to "Babymetal-sama" to let Kano join BM... and in a few years, she was there with them Hahaha')

It was a nice artistic switch because Moa-chan and Yui-chan were the shortest in Sakura Gakuin at the time, and Ayaka-chan and Airi were the tallest. So having the scream and dancers taller than the lead singer was a cute switch up since Su-metal was taller than Yuimetal and Moametal for sooooo long.

Someone had a sense of humor. The two girls filling Yui and Moa's position are the twin towers of Sakura Gakuin. The two shortest girls in SG have been replaced by the two tallest, Ayaka Miyoshi and Airi Matsui. Airi is the more shy one and not as adept at dancing. Both girls remain active in Japanese entertainment. Airi is a model and Ayaka has had starting roles in several movies as well as being a model. Both are also TV personalities and have appeared still as a team in some TV shows. I recall one where they were sampling American restaurants in Japan.

What I like most here is that Ayaka, who is maybe the most serious member, lets go and in the end i love her "Ayaka-Metal Death!" There are more unit shuffles though...Even Airi (remember: the girl who said:"I'm not good at singing and talking") does a wonderful job here "Airi-Metal Death!". As far as I know Su, Moa ans Yui watched this backstage.

This was 2012, but part of the nendo 2011 (which ended Spring 2012). On this nendo, Ayaka and Airi (taller girls here) graduated with Ayami (the oldest but tiniest, first ever president, not in this video). Su graduated in nendo 2012, but actually Spring 2013, which is roughly one year after this video.

There is a much better cover of Gimme Chocolate from 2017, but aside from a few seconds of video it is only audio. Marin Hidaka, one of Sakura Gakuin's cutest girls ever, performed Yui's part. Kano Fujihira, future BabyMetal Avenger, did Moa's part. Maaya Asou, for my money the second best singer ever to perform with Sakura Gakuin (can you guess who is number one?), gave a spot on rendition of Su's part. Some people compare Maaya to Su, and she even looks a bit like her.
