Nice & thanks again from Japan 💛。BABYMETAL is singing about a school girl who overslept in the morning and got up quickly and dressed in haste asking repeatedly what time it was now. "Doki Doki" signifies sound of fast heartbeat. And the girl also got excited looking forward to what was going to happen today at her school and in her future as well. Now in 2021, Su and MOa are matured and no longer school girls, but they performed this song again in on-going shows at Budokan mimicking their childish voices. Every audience at the venue became happy. I was there ! ヽ(^o^)丿

You can see that they did not have their own BabyMetal costumes at that time. Their clothes are completely different from the BabyMetal costumes. Today, that song has become one of BabyMetal's most classic songs. And every time they perform that song, they will lie on the stage to sleep is also one of their most classic dance moves.

Ah Doki Doki.... The days when they didn't have the budget to get costumes, and had to borrow from classmates and hand-me-downs, and only Babybones pretending to play instruments.... look at them now. That's why I laugh when people use the term "manufactured" to insult Babymetal.... Back then Pop and Hip Hop were the tops on the charts (even now).... No one would bank on a jpop/metal to make money.... But Kobametal did it.... His crazy ass experiment gave us 10years of "WTF?!" joy in music fusion of metal and everything under the sun! 🤘🦊🤘

Babymetal is a metal that makes people happy. Ten years after its debut, Babymetal has evolved significantly. Basically, Babymetal is a band trying to reform. They have always introduced new things. However, that position alone will not change for ten years.

The only Metal act that can make one smile constantly! There's a video on YT where Su, Yuo and Moa watch this MV and comment on how it was made, how young they were, etc. They've come a long way since this...today they announced they'll be streaming a live concert from Budokan (the 9th, from the 10 shows they are doing between Feb and May) in July. 🦊🤘

They were really tiny but at the point of this recording they had been with Babymetal already for a year, they were even smaller in their first performance. It is a bit crazy to watch now that they are internationally renowned performers. And yeah everyone is going to tell it but Doki Doki is an onomatopoeic expression that simulates the beat of the heart on excitement. The song is about the young girls waking up in the morning and being excited about another day where they are going to discover and learn a lot of new things about the world. It is literally a metal children song xD Oh yeah and I was watching the vid and realized that you both must feel really weird speaking in english instead of swedish for the recordings.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 💓 ⏰ Pretty much everything that followed was because this unexpectedly blew up. Su, Yui and Moa were still in Sakura Gakuin, the school-themed Idol group where BABYMETAL originated as the "Heavy Music Club". Their original budget was so small that Su's coat was borrowed from one of the Sakura Gakuin teachers. Moa's vest was borrowed from Yui, and Yui borrowed hers from fellow student Raura. The girls taught the skeleton dudes the dance moves themselves. This song covers all of those traditional Heavy Metal themes, like waking up excited for a new day at school, and deciding on your lip gloss and cute hairstyle for the day. : ) More seriously, there were other sub-units besides BABYMETAL at Sakura Gakuin that had more resources for costumes and video production, like the Twinklestars (Baton Club) that Yui and Moa were also a part of. But even with a shoestring budget, this video is the one that blew up on social media. Of course, about three years later 'Gimme Chocolate!!' took off even further.

IN Japanese Doki Doki is mimicking the sound of a beating heart and loosely translated means "heart pounding" so the song is called "heart Pounding morning" it's a song about waking up in the morning getting ready for school. Ima Nanji means "What time is it? it's why Su Metal keeps asking cause she might be late

This is where it all started. It's a sentimental favorite with many fans, but doesn't get played much anymore because the girls are not girls. FYI "doki doki" is a Japanese onomatopoeia phrase used to describe the excitement of a beating heart and the song is about getting ready for school and doing new things as a teen girls and also has a couple of lines that puncture the trope of silly schoolgirls not knowing things, which is a bit of girl power. Babymetal started as a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin and Doki Doki Morning was first released on the Sakura Gakuin 2010 Nendo CD. Here is an early performance featuring an enthusiastic guy in a white T-shirt in the bottom right of the screen...Babymetal fans say you are a "white T-shirt guy" if you are being very enthusiastic. @ "Hello Ivy!" and "Dear Mr. Socrates" from that CD were quickly released as singles, but Babymetal and "Doki Doki Morning" didn't get as much promotion. But there must have been some good feedback about the song and the chemistry of the girls as the video was eventually released in late 2011. I think in that time Amuse and Koba were seeing if Babymetal had legs and Koba was lobbying for a small video budget, although the costumes are some of the girls' own clothes.

The girls were very pleased with themselves - they taught the Babybones guys the choreo themselves so they could dance along with them in the video. Did you spot any of the little animated skeletons dancing with them in the bedroom? There were 5 "Mr Bones" in there dotted round the room.

Great reaction! I recommend "Tales of The Destinies". Arguably one of their most complex and progressive music. They performed it live once at Tokyo Dome with a crowd of more than 50 thousand! I like the smiling face of Sandy when she see the girls so young and kawaii, it makes my heart and spirit *doki doki* too 😊 I guess someone already explained what does mean.😁 These two days the final 2 shows of 10 Babymetal Budokan closed the Metal Resistence chapter, and a new chapter will begin, beautiful surprises for the audience like SuMetal playing the piano in one of her solo song making The One go wild and crazy, or MoaMetal doing a Black BabyMetal song again with 4 little girls around her, probably the girls from a show before and Sakura Gakuin members most of them, acting like a big sis, we're so proud of our Super Moachan and our queen SuMetal 🥺❤️ They played this song too, it was the kick started for them and many fans like me knew the group for this song, 10 years ago, and i was blew away with them, sadly I lost their track because life and whatnot and after many years i rediscovered and felt on the Fox Hole, this time forever 🦊🤘 I won't tell you any more useful info from this song than probably already is in box comment. Only that the girls did react (kinda) and made a commentary vid (along for Megitsune, Headbanger!, and others songs) wich is fun and full of info about them when they were doing this vid. Also a world premiere trailer was announced a date (26/06) for a livestream show of 10 BabyMetal Budokan, and my guess is that day a new single will be shown up, and the 4th album (like KobaMetal said is on production) date release by the end year.
