Some people I know are really opposed to the character appearances and the relaxing story which ruins the experience for them. If those don't matter then I would recommend it because the music is really good and characters are lovable.

UPDATE: The only photos I took down this particular street were in mid/late March, which was sadly after the display got changed... :( I definitely walked past in early/mid February on the way to/from JR Akihabara station though, and thinking back I remember seeing a display which made me think of Christmas? Looking at the video, the white specks and general colours remind me of Christmas too, so it all seems to match up? Maybe I was subconsciously influenced by the display to click on the first Hololive video that was recommended to me by KZbin? xD

I went with a couple friends right before the panic set in. Kyoto palace and other massive locations were practically barren wastelands, it was awesome. Go to the Jojo ramen shop in Osaka, the guy is super friendly and the food is good. Also when you go to Akihabara, do yourself a favour and get honey toast. Going down the main strip, you should see a sign with honey toast on it, and there is a stairwell going down to a basement bar. Lots of darts and anime music but other than the music playing, it is a normal bar.

Totally worth a day trip, but there is also so much more to see and do in Japan. I recommend Kamakura, it is only an hourish train ride from major central stations in Tokyo and it is an amazing sight seeing experience.
