Yknow people can talk all day about how bad early Sakura and Ino were but this fight really was pretty fun to watch. There wasn’t really any special visual jutsu or crazy plot armor like the nine tails. This was just straight up two young kids boxing it out and a pretty fair fight at least. I don’t think it was as interesting as some of the other fights in the Chunin exams but this fight was still pretty good.

For those who call this fight useless... 1) Ino was intentionally holding back from the beginning and remember that her jutsu is very high risk to use. 2) Sakura didn't have as much combat experience and the story made it a point to explain that she was still herds behind her teammates. 3) At least it wasn't one-sided like Tenten vs Temari. Poor girl got decimated, ditto for Hinata when she fought Neji. Yes I know Kishimoto sucks with female characters, but still.

@@notgadot I am glad that poor Naruto didn’t get saddled with Sakura. Hinata or Sakura, I am going Hinata valley the way. Although there is a even better girl for Naruto. Anko Miterashi. Think about it. As the student of Orochimaru, Anko will be hated by Konoha just like Naruto. The few times we see Anko,she is near Naruto. And they are both passionate and impulsive and fun loving people. Both are named after food. They have a lot of chemistry together. A lot more than Hinata x Naruto.

Sakura is one of my favorite. But I can tell that it's a plot armor. Without naruto, Ino will win. Same with Erza vs Evergreen in fairytail. Without Erza's artificial eye, she and the other petrified girls will die.

okay this my opinion but this fight is pretty good based off the choreography and animation, i think what makes people hate this fight is the motive behind it, aka SASUKE, ofc is doesn't take a genius to realise that sasuke is just a mask for the real reason sakura ended their friendship which her feeling inferior to Ino but unfortunately, this show doesn't show that, if the writers respected these two characters you'd find them having a more flushed out rivalry like naruto and sasuke, it just feels like "girly drama" instead of character building since the only time they seemed to be in a rivalry is when they're standing right next to each other and probably talking about sasuke outside of that their rivalry is non-existant, imagine they both had a non-romantic actually ninja-related goal? and they fought over who was the better ninja? but no.....SASUKE

Those aren't shadow clones. Mirror image clones don't require that much chakra cause they literally just decoy. Naruto = shadow clones. Rest = clones/mirror images.
