So I just discovered your channel recently after falling hopelessly in love with the Sakura Wars series after giving the 2019 reboot a shot on a whim, only to see that this is your last video! Just wanted to tell you it makes me happy to see that this series has such a dedicated fanbase, and you should take as much time as you need to finish your Sakura Wars 3 video! If your last few retrospectives were anything to go off of, I’m sure it’s going to be great! I was seriously surprised your channel was so small with the content you were putting out!

Mine was the non-ODE compatible VA2 revision. I just swapped the bottom half with a VA1 and went on to also get it HDMI modded that only touches the bottom regular half

I got myself one of these last week! It's basically in the same condition, I don't think it was ever played for more than a few minutes, if that. This console is just wonderful, I think it's the prettiest thing in my collection lol. It's my first Dreamcast, I tried buying a Dreamshell for it (no way I'm opening this thing) so I can play some games, since I don't speak Japanese at all yet, but I couldn't get it to work. Oh well, guess it'll stay unplayed for a bit more lol

And Btw, I think this series in an underrated masterpiece that deserves way more recognition from gamers other than Japan, just recieved the first 4 volumes of the manga for my birthday and the story and artstyle are just amazing. Does the Sakura wars Dreamcast work for burned games? I'm thinking of getting one myself since a Sakura taisen 3 fan translation is in the works but I've heard that dreamcasts made before year 2000 can play burned CDs and since I'm not that confident modding internals I'd prefer not opening it up. But the Sakura taisen version is still very tempting.

The Sakura Wars Dreamcast is one of the later models that does NOT play burned CDs. That said, I have seen reports of a few out there that still have the old internals, but I wouldn't risk it unless you're okay with receiving one that can't play burnt discs.

I do want to make videos on other subjects eventually, but there's not a lot of reliable English-language coverage of this series, so I want to help fill that void as much as possible. I'm thinking once I reach SW4 I'll start alternating between SW and other games for video subjects, but no concrete plans yet. As for the SW3 video, I'm getting close to the end, hoping to have it done by the end of the year!
