It just dragged the storyline unnecessarily to some extent. Whereas here the story seems like it just began. There are many twists and turns remaining.

The one thing which went unnoticed is part 1 has a plot which it completes. It has a set up "vardha sacrificing his position to rangas dad to save deva without knowing the consequences which almost costs his life" to a pay off "deva saving vardha by killing ranga". But they should have set up ranga in a similar way to garuda in kgf ch 1. That would have given salaar part 1 a proper climax unlike the movie which felt more like a cliff hanger

Prashant Neel was definitely going the Bahubali route with the setup and the cliffhanger. KGF 1 was a complete movie and honestly it would've worked without a sequel but Salaar definitely needs a Sequel to tell the complete story there way too much going on to give a conclusion in first movie

@@TheKing-cm4uo yeah, i kinda agree. Never thought of it that way. But my intension was they were anyway setting up ranga as a psycho brute who literally built zombies. They should have just focused a bit more on it. The climax twist is goosebumps, no complaint on that. It's just the pre climax fight which should have been better. As you compared it with bahubali, they set up kalakeya, both for story and cinema (in the sense a climax fight). That's the exact thing which salaar should have done better

Cool review. Why does Salaar keep a 25 year old vow. It is also because the guy saved his mom from gangrape and murder. Before varadha stops the goons there is moment where Deva closes his eyes in fear of what is about to happen. He has an image of what atrocities his mother is going to face. Varadha saved his mother and in turn stopped that nightmarish image from turning to reality. So he is now hell bent on turning Varadha's dream come true

Great analysis. I quite enjoyed this movie but the family tree posted on Hombale on the 26th Dec was helpful. Jaby my impression was that Varda and Deva have met multiple times over the years from 1985 to 2010 because 1. Varda knows exactly where to find Deva. 2. Varda has acquired some warrior skills which he is clearly underplaying until the climax. The dialogue exchange implies they are familiar with each other's fighting techniques and it's possible Varda has been leaving Khansaar multiple times to meet his friend and they have trained together or deva has trained Varda. This itself is why them being pit against each other is fascinating 3. Varda should know that Deva is a Shouranya because he saved Deva and his mom when Raj Mannar sent his people to their house after Dhaara was killed

Everything in this movie was great DP, story, style of shooting, sound, editing, mostly the acting. I just came to realize that Prabhas is a one dimensional actor. If a movie requires the south indian warlord look he is the best. That just didn't work for Sri Ram (Adipurush) since he was the most gentle and a subtle smiling kind of person. The first half of the film was meh for me but its the second half where the film starts to find its identity I loved the politics, world building and just the premise but I do agree they should've trimmed down the shruti Hassan scenes!! I personally think this film is better than KGF 2. I noticed the fade to black scenes in Salaar too but they weren't as annoying as they were in KGF2. Overall I was entertained and I left the theatre with alot of questions and hopefully they'll be answered in Part 2 if that ever gets made

Nobody has any complaints regarding the buildup scenes and slow pacing in Christopher Nolan and Tom Cruise filmography. None of the so called reviewers here complained on RRR and the comic build up it had. Buildup is common in South cinema and it is the way of celebrating the superstars. Everything is about the point of view. Its just how you watch it. Is prabhas a super hero in the movie:- yes he is. he isnt a normal person.he is a descendent of one of the most dangerous and violent clans of khansar and among those 3 clans he is from the most feard and powerful clan shouryangans, and thats the answer for the power and strength behind salaar. Now coming to the emotions in salaar movie. The director portrayed the story very beautifully, prashanth neel express the emotions in a different approach. The characters show their emotions and love in action not in word. we can see when varadha came to deva to bring him back to khansar, salaars mom don't wanna send him but when she heard the hammer blow she remembers the help and tells deva to go. That the emotion you should understand bw them. And about the screenplay its hard for some people to keep up at the 1st go but, its more understandable in the seacond time, said by the director. And as you watched it with subtitles its way more hard to understand. Coming to the heroine where the movie feels slow and its used to display how people see salaar and different things that we will see in part two like salaars promise to heroines fathers and varadhas sister's vengeance towards salaar etc. Im not criticizing you or anything im just explaining the movie's perspective i mean the way you should watch it dont misunderstand it .The director is arranging the sequences and situations for the part two. In my opinion its a great movie 🎥 with perfect emotions not so high or low, if u didnt like it, its your opinion and i respect that. The city is founded by three tribes and prabhas is born in khansaar ,so he know about it.Prabhas created that seal,the reason she was kidnapped and prabhas had to save her was because her connection to city through her father,you can not get that with a journalist, even though there main aim was to get deva , they needed her connection to mask the truth and get Prabhas involved, Prabhas loved his mother and obey everything she says,but he defied her for prithvi character , and promise is a promise ,it might seem like a bargain but that is what salaar means, it feels like you missed a lot , maybe because you had to read the subtitle, that is why we needed to dub this in other languages,even if the dubbing may not be good plus to get better experience , saying this since I so some people in different places complaining about dubbing

10:10 in Indian movies most of the times 3 act structure doesn't work because we have Intervals so that we need to achieve peak twice in a movie so and other reason here it is part two so 3 act structure should not apply here in my feeling

I feel like a lot of the Indian films I love actually have three act structure twice. Before and after interval. When I mentioned the 3 act structure I don’t just mean the whole movie, I mean scenes have those as well. Sometimes a scene is a section of the film compromised of multiple locations/moments, but you should still get a sense of build up and payoff.

I don't agree with the constant hype (da da da da) comments. In the first half for most part, it was down, then there is first fight and the interval bang. Again in second half there are enough gaps, it wasn't like constant hype. In fact, in KGF 1, I felt like that, but not here.

This is prashant neels most matured take for a movie, yes kgf has style unmatched but it does many things to match the art style of neel which worked out but were unnecessary. And one out of all these things which stand out for me is linear storyline, there's a guy who narrates a story from protagonists childhood and ends at his death. However in salaar, the mystery holds well for part 2, like there are 2 narratives, one which will continue the past on what happened with deva and vardha in khansaar and the second narrative is how will things procede in the present which blow my mind off. No matter how this movie does in theaters, when it comes out on ott, ppl will definitely understand of what level prashant neel cooked

The Aadhya part, an outdated thread is directly plugged in from 'Uggram'. Instead Khansaar and friendship are more than enough for this movie to be a blockbuster with proper handling. What I found so strange is that a lot of Prabhas fans were too loud on the X until the release and then only few people are talking about it. And, I think Jaby just went psycho with how he edited this video. 😂

5:30 - yes you’re right, but that’s what Indian movies. They wasted so much time to introduce prabhas and the story of the girl. However I think they did that on purpose because it’s like they left us with two cliffhangers One how does two friends became enemies which is because now part two will be about prabhas helping vardha became the king and him being and shourya. And there has to be a part 3 that will continue from the present where the girl comes in a prabhas stops the seal. I think if they didn’t waste time they could’ve had all of this in two parts but I think it’s trilogy like KGF.

The childhood story is imp. It’s about how the both friends help each other at the times of adversity. Varadha saves Deva’s mom and sacrifices his territories for the sake of friendship. Now Deva helps him to ascend the throne. Deva has two important things in life. One is his mother and other is Varadha. He goes to any lengths to protect them both. I agree the girl portion is a waste. Wasted just to elevate the hero. Mom is suffering from some sort of PTSD or something. So annoying.
