He is not Vasantrao.....But Vasantkhan.What a voice.Real Ustad.He was equally at ease with the thumri, dadra and ghazal forms.Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande was an academic, earning himself a PhD in "The Transformation of Hindustani Classical Music".

He is Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande only. No need to be a Khansahab to be good at Music. Though he did play the role of Khansahab in 'Katyar Kaljat Ghusli' excellently.
