Salamat Ali's throat running like a drilling machine. No words for that perfection and command over the swaras.
@soumitralahiri9673 жыл бұрын
Mr. Donkey Kong A drilling machine does not recognise emotional nuances. This is a bad comparison. Too much technical voice and throat acrobatics ,specially at the drut and tarana parts, rob the rendering of the true serene pensiveness of the raag Ragesri. The bilambit kheyal is superb beyond words, irresistible at the upper octave. Anyway, the sarengi and tabla accompanists have also done a commendable job.
@mirpuri93823 жыл бұрын
@@soumitralahiri967 The comparison that I've made is in context of his speed along with the perfection that he maintains even at such a great pace of taans. And the drut and tarana parts are extraordinary. I find them better than the vilambit khayal although I believe that the vilambit and drut khayals have different purposes and different elements to exhibit. Speed and simulataneous accuracy are the key components of the drut khayal. So in my opinion, the more these two components are there, the better it sounds. Lastly, i think their taans do nowhere affect the aesthetics of the composition.
@soumitralahiri9673 жыл бұрын
Mr. Donkey Kong I like your pseudo-name and would thank you for your response. It is a relief to see that you have not taken offense at my words "bad comparison". You have made yourself very clear. I think that as listeners of Indian classical vocal music our approaches are different. While you seek technical perfection, speed, sweep and sensational voice production, I seek repose, rest and absorbed concentration. I lose interest in vocal music whenever it becomes a display to the gallery, however perfect the technique may be. This difference in our listening approaches makes you prefer drut kheyal over the bilambit. As for me I find speed and fast figures more suited to instrumental music . Anyway, this only tells how rich and various our classical music is. Do listen more and more and feel free to express yourself. I shall do the same. Once again, thank you.
