Thank you.. My family was from Laos, but my parents came to America when they were pretty young, so I was never really shown things like the dance (only seeing them at parties XD)... but I always thought it was so pretty.

Yes please for a wedding dance video and beginner hand movement/feet placement/rhythm please! We didn’t have a huge Lao community where I lived growing up and so I never learned how to fon, but have always wanted to. I’m getting married in 8 mos and have no idea where to begin. I’d also appreciate slower on the hand movements too so I can learn and then teach my my 6 year old who always asks to learn how to fon😊. Any videos and suggestions are so appreciated! We don’t have a Lao community where I live so lessons are not an option😭. Kop Jai Lai Lai!!

Sabaidee! So I’m slightly anxious now that we’re beginning to plan our traditional Lao wedding portion, which will be in the Fall of this year. I would like to know how to do the wedding dance (fon) for both myself and my fiancé. Please, please help as I’ve tried reaching out to the Lao temple community two hours away for lessons and have not heard back. When you do post, if you can please slower movements. I just want to do everything right on our special day and don’t want to look like a fool😅😭. Thank you so much in advance!❤️

After some careful analysis, their movement are sync and with the beat. It just appears they are offbeat and seem to go faster but they’re actually not. When you cut frame to frame and see the drum noise hit, it matches the hand movements.
