Evidence points to this, S-220, being the final syndicated episode of Sale of the Century. Champion Sandi takes on Rick and Shirley.

My goodness, Summer looks quite exquisite in that tux! :D Re: The first two years of NBC $ale: The way I see it, I say "never say never" regarding if those eps exist; Jay Wolpert, before he died, confirmed the short-lived Hit Man, which premiered on the same day as NBC $ale, was fully intact. So there might be hope yet, just like when the CBS Joker's Wild was found years ago. :)

Sale of the Century stars Jim Perry, a Reg Grundy production. Due to a production error with the second Fame Game, the question was replaced and the program edited for broadcast. This is Jay Stewart speaking.

Now that Buzzr has finished the syndie run and the final NBC season - what happens next? Much of the daytime run is missing IIRC because of NBC tape wiping at the time (we know that pre-1985 daytime Wheel is mostly wiped).

In "speed round", they use "Pyramid"'s countdown music.

Shouldn’t have gotten rid of the shopping format. That might’ve kept it going.

I hope Rick was able to get the money he owed his bookie some other way.

Unannounced finale.... Did they invite her onto the daytime show to finish out, or just the "last champion"?

She's the last syndication champion But don't take my word for it.

I got a kick out of Jim modeling with Summer in the first three minutes. David and Greg have nothing to fear.

This sure didn't air on USA in March 1994 (they went back to the NBC shows from Summer 1988-the following July 1994-they discontinued it).

I felt it was very odd for Syndie Sale to end in March 1986. I had read somewhere on the internet that this show aired in May of that year with reruns sandwiched in between. However, Syndicated SOTC was sadly in a long list of syndicated game shows that were canned by the Summer of 1986. Others included The Joker's Wild, Tic Tac Dough, The Price is Right Tom Kennedy Nighttime, Let's Make A Deal 1984, Break The Bank 1985, and Catch Phrase. Of course, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! were and still are syndication powerhouses. But The (original) $100,000 Pyramid, The $1,000,000 chance of a Lifetime, and The 1985 run of The Newlywed Game were doing well. I think Jim may have wanted to end the Syndie Sale due to his busy schedule with NBC Daytime Sale in the U.S. and Definition in Canada.

Contrary to popular belief the $100,000 Pyramid was not doing that great. In much of the country it had to air on Cable because the stations in these markets did not pick it up and as such if you wanted to watch it you had to get a Cable box that had WWOR on it since that station broadcasted it and was a superstation similar to TBS at the time. I think a similar situation occurred with both the New Newlywed Game and Chance of a Lifetime

@@JohnathanWilliamson849 I have no knowledge of Syndication in other parts of the country. But this does not come to me as a surprise. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! dominated Syndication at that time and almost 40 years later, both shows still stand.

It seems odd that this is apparently the last Syndicated episode. That means that Season 1 had 100 episodes while Season 2 had only 120 episodes (65 that aired September 16-December 13, 1985 and 55 that aired from January 6-March 21, 1986). The Game Show Wiki states that there are 50 more episodes after this that aired between March 24-May 2 and May 12-June 6, 1986. If those did air in syndication originally, maybe they're lost since apparently there's no evidence of them airing on USA.

“Trade magazines from 1992 reported that USA licensed 390 episodes of the series. There were 170 daytime shows from the start of Varsity Week to the end of the series. Add 220 to that and you get 390. It's the only logical reason I can think of for Buzzr to start filling in gaps in the daytime version after S-220 airs.” - Greg Brobeck Jim very clearly tiptoes around making any references to future shows or appearances at the end of the program.
