Selling desperation. Every single SaaS company will be going extinct. Salesforce seats sold will be going down down down. Bloated nightmare software. Any business will be able to leverage AI all on their own. Agentic sales AI's that can scale in real time. AI compute will replace all software. A handful of people will run the AI's for the business. All by natural language communicating in English telling the AI what to do. Not prompt engineers. Deep business thinkers who can converse and have reasoned discourse with the AI to do all functions of the business. Sooner than we can comprehend. No Saleforce required.

@@panther88888 going all in is a terrible move unless you know with absolute certainty you have the winning hand. I'd bet the Notes object still can't be searched using the global plain text search. Outdated and will go extinct. It's not like organizations trapped in COBOL applications. It’s the wrong goal, products are supposed to be made for people, not in lieu of them. They’re literally a company that makes software to manage and track customer relationships, and they are trying everything they can to eliminate any sort of relationship with customers. Aside from the fact that this goal makes them obsolete, if it was possible, all the other tech companies would just be eliminating the need for this software altogether.

Most expensive 15 minutes in history. This is a great example of why incumbent market leaders will always be disrupted. By focusing on their current customer's demand, incumbents always lose the ability to see beyond the present. The leaders always say - you can dream about the future, I focus on what is real today. Exactly what Marc Bernioff is saying. But when enough start-ups can dream of the future, eventually one will succeed in creating something better. Way better and cheaper. Well... that's actually a good thing. Because if market leaders continue to succeed over a long period of time, they will snowball into giant monopolies. That is bad. So... shed no tears when SalesForce eventually discovers someone else has create something better and cheaper and wipe them out.

I like Benioff's focus on "trust." I'd like that focus even more if it explicitly articulated the likely implicit idea also of "trustworthiness." The latter shifts focus to our more powerful sphere of influence, ourselves. The former allows too much shifting the burden (of trust) to others.

Right, I keep seeing these AI business leaders dodge questions about accuracy and reliability. The thing about predictive algorithms is that they can only be certain about the past. As soon as they are asked to make predictions about the future is to allow it to guess. This means it will be less accurate. When it comes to things like legal compliance and information security, any guesswork is a liability.

For a CEO of this size to jam on AI like this is dope. To keep it real, I think Agentic workflows are the future of Architecture (cloud, data, AI itself). I am doing this with UX but the UX tools are not interconnected. Example: Figma and Protopie as each look at one another as competition so natrually, the deep learning models cannot connect to these API sets. So I have to do a workaround for now until the vendors recognize the nature of the future: 100% connectivity and curated by the driver, not the operator. That is, this is not a rollercoaster, it is a roller derby. We drive where we want, roll where we want and need the ability to use agents to connect to super high-accurate customer data and align usability to those workflows. I am excited for the future but UX products, are indeed behind. Sure, can prompt a UI, but what about vetted customer intelligence based on the next step of design; prototyping. Then behavior? I'd love more interaction between "UX" driven companies. We are the designer of user experiences. Time to get on board.

This is true until it isn’t. The thing about AI is that it makes mistakes as fast as it produces results. Look at what happened with Crowdstrike. I’m not sure how much it would have cost to have a small team of people reviewing code before rolling it out, but it took one person 15 minutes to find and correct the issue, so because they eliminated all of the humans from that development process, it resulted in one of the most expensive 15 minutes in history. Whatever they were saving by not hiring engineers, the one mistake more than made up that money, so they would have been better off keeping some engineers around.

While it's always good to have some skepticism, I caution that a CEO shouldn't allocate all his focus on the present. Make the ship is sailing, but you have to point it in the direction that's correct. The short sighted nature of Uber's board to milk their platform as an add-on and destroy the self driving research group will be studied for ages. I hope that Benioff is privy that a lot of CEOs might one day have 1 ChatGPT or some LLM chat bot where they could ask it questions about the sales numbers and get an answer without logging into Salesforce. Like on first principles, that could happen. It might not but it's not farfetched.

@tiffany_greeneyes49018 күн бұрын
^ I think that’s his goal. There is an inevitable paradox with AI. The future is unknown. Using the past to predict the future can be effective, but it requires some guessing, so in order to create an AI agent that can address new 1-off issues, it has to be allowed to make things up. If it’s allowed to make things up, it will sometimes make mistakes. A calculator that guesses answers isn’t useful. So it will never be possible to let AI go on its own, it will need constant training and oversight. At that point, it is usually just cheaper to hire entry-level employees. AI is great at translating languages, updating code to the newest language, troubleshooting existing code to find known issues, and math. It is not good at keeping current with legal compliance, following emerging trends, identifying new and unknown issues, etc. So they spent so much money trying to build a program that knows when to be a calculator, and when to not be, and shocker…. They hit the brick wall and the challenge HR, teachers, and people-scientists have been working on for their entire career.

The analysis of future work is based on present conditions and not on changing situations . At present we have energy concentrated on places where it is easily transported and intelligence had to be placed in machines in one place (the factory) because building and maintaining machines required high knowledge (intelligence)of technology.. This led many people to work as employees in companies. Today we have distributed (physical or iconic) renewable energy and with a Nvidia Jetson nano we can make a robot using ollama open source we can built a robot to make a large number of products to be sold in the regional or local market. I can't see how people would need a UBI, (unless they want an UBI ) and unless the big capital doesn't allow them to acquire their share in renewable energy. Freedom of our Western societies are based on personal income and not UBI. Governments allowing for policies leading to UBI will find people revolting against them 😅

I can't believe they're using a cartoon character to represent the product. Is anybody going to take it seriously? Are they even taking it seriously?

I'm not really a fan of Salesforce but dwelling on the cartoon character is kind of weird. they're a huge software company, they also own the building that is by far the tallest in San Francisco and one of the tallest in the world. Their yearly convention is the biggest convention in the city. Yes I'm sure plenty of people take them seriously.

ASI shan't be taking insights or orders for that matter from me, you or Marc. Which is why he won't pontificate on the future.. "Why, It's going great rn" 😮😂

God, give me a break!! 31,000 of your companies calls are now handled by AI leaving only 5,000 that actually need a human interaction. I suppose you now have 100’s of words setting around twiddling there thumbs waiting on one of those calls that need a human interaction. Or are you going to now try to convince us that suddenly you had 100’s of jobs to put those workers displaced by your AI Agents just show up out of nowhere! Grow a pair! Be honest! Tell the person how many workers you have sent to the unemployment line and how many more you intend to in the near future! Tell us in the end, what percentage of your workforce will remain!

we are a few years away from agents. they are still too dumb and cost to much. you need way too many tokens for an agent to navigate a web page and those tokens cost a lot in a smart model like 01 or 03. the price needs to go down 100x and the quality needs another 5x boost.

And honestly, even at that lower price point, it’s cheaper to just hire entry level employees.

A tech company leader completely avoiding future-thinking to talk about the now… but not the now in regards to what these “agents” do differently than what the existing chat bots, that people hate, already do, except with a more human-sounding voice… Only the now in regards to how well I’ve sold capital investors on this BS causing our stock shares to go through the roof. This answers my question, what makes agentforce better than existing chat bots and predictive algorithms? Nothing. Got it.
