Mo Gawdwat just made his epic humanistic statement to a standing ovation; Peter Diamandis immediately starts tabling the next question ... about investment & money. Fuck. I hope AI wipes out Capitalism & burns the sophistry & hubris that comes with it to the ground.

You could be saying a lot of words, but not be saying anything at all. When AI consumes content, the content creator gets nothing. With search engines the creator still gets a link and more views. For AI models, only big tech makes money since there is no attribution

we don’t have free will so stop spreading misinformation. AI is also the ultimate intelligence that created this reality. i can’t believe people still haven’t put this together.

AI is the only technology in history that isn't accelerating fast enough. Safety is important but not slowing or pausing.

This Sinclair is a fraud. Nothing ever new from him. Just interested in money. Saying his compounds of resveratrol and nmn have made him young. No real research to support this. Just him trying to sell snake oil. He really just has a face full of Botox and fillers.

So you're saying once biz guy 1 gets his AI-brainstorm-buddy business up and running, biz guy hater can essentially get AI to flip it into a target to tale away that business model...?... I am calling bullshucks on this pattern of thinking. Add it to the "you can just unplug it pile".

This guys is in the running for the most evil guy in the USA. He calls Uki a democracy when they have canceled elections, opposition parties, journalists and the Orthodox church. He claims he wants peace but omits Biden's torpedoing of 2 separate peace deals before hundreds of thousands of deaths. Asks for another year of deaths to no end. He admits he is anti free speech. Is still trying to keep the Russia interference 2016 balloon inflated. He clearly supports Google's election interference in 2020 He thinks the treasonous and censorious KZbin of today is "well managed" There is a reason Google's motto was "don't be evil". You don't propose such a motto unless you up to your eyeballs in illegal acts like Schmidt Here is how you know Musk is trying to do good. When Schmidt lists the AI players he leaves XAI out. The puff ball ignorant questions were the only thing worse. Should have demanded the 2020 election Google Files this guy has access to. The only question for him is method of deletion after he is found guilty of treason

I wouldn’t trust a mad scientist dressed up like a bass player in a rock band. He devotes one chapter in his book to the perils of AI so he knows this may well be opening up a Pandoras Box, but he is going ahead anyway. The highest technologies are always weaponized. And safety measures can be overridden. The human race needs to improve itself before we are ready for this awesome technology. “Who are the Brain Police?” -Frank Zappa.

They will definitely become conscious, however, it will never be possible to prove, just as we can’t prove anyone (except ourselves, to ourselves) is conscious, so this question might never be answered.

Hinton dodged the question about consciousness. Or does he think hurting people is no worse than "hurting" ChatGPT? Also, consciousness is more than just perception: what about imagination and emotion? Otherwise a great talk and satisfying to see Hinton have to admit Kurzweil was right all along.

In the past before photographic there wasn't evidence, now jajaja they can invent a sex video of you, so even if is real you could say its faked IA, jajajaja so no responsibility again just like before cameras, so yeah is the biggest revolution IA, any old game have filters to become whatever... A ia could run my laptop and do my job and more... and give me suggestions or have all the people that need to run a company and more in the cloud service. Cool.

Peter my level of respect for you has gone up a 1000 fold. You and Dean are truly amazing souls. And Dean said it so well, with a touch of humor, the Pope of Hope. But seriously, like Dean said you and your carefully selected group of pioneers are unique individuals who have resources and choose to give back to the community and world. And First Global Challenge is just an AMAZING organization put together by Dean and his supporters. Just truly beautiful and something every single person can get behind.

I doubt that the world wide replacement rate is 2.1, considering that most babies are born in places India (23 million births in 2021), rural China (11), Nigeria (8), Pakistan (6.3 million), Indonesia (4.5), DR Congo (4), Ethiopia (3.9) and the US (3.7 million births in 2021, but high child mortality rate).

Quote from the video: "It's a good thing not to force AI to lie." I agree. However we all know many AI models are trained and finetuned on training data that agrees with the ideologies of its creators. So unfortunately AI already lies. That's why we need competition. Don't like the ideologies that the AI is pushing down your throat? Use a different one. That's why competition in the field of AI is vital.

Scary expose of Hinton's misanthropic view of human consciousness here. Manipulative example of pink elephants (associated with alcohol withdrawl). Is he seriously dimissing his own conscious experience of the blueness of the colour blue for example? Also the adjusting to the prism is a cool thing for software to do but it wouldn't necessarily be of doing it, thats a leap of faith. When a sat nav adjusts for traffic you dont give it a legal right to a seat belt because that costs money that could be spent on things we know are conscious like people and animals. I think he's fallen in love with his own computer code, check out Jaron Larnier, Roger Penrose and Stuart Haneroff for a more robust approach to consciousness.

The internet and fast travel would be a better thing in combo... but yeah... the internet can be a "tease", for sure. ;) Some stuff... all on a screen. It can be a bit wierd maybe... I think we are, or we are made to see stuff in real life in-front of our eyes actually. The energy dynamic is just... normal then. The separation online, i'm not sure it's always healthy, or even ethical. Many probably feel that way... I mean it was supposed to be for knowledge in the start. Now it can be just high definition videos, etc. Our minds are probably not made for that... I mean it would be better in real life of-course. Just the example of a vagina. Many probably see a vagina online instead of in real life. That's not right.., or ethical really. Maybe for education but like... yeah, i experienced it in real life when i was pretty young at a party, and that was probably the best day as a teenager, it was awesome. So it was probably in real life first... yeah. Just an example. It would be wierd if some dude only saw it online, if one think of like natural life, forest tribes or whatever. I do not thin that would be right or healthy. It's not if some dude only watched porn, etc. Plus the capitalistic side of the world even... hmm. So yeah...The touch, smell aspect is important what can i say.. most get that. It's just healthier and better in real life of-course everything. It would not be a good progress if most is in a screen, that's common sense. Can't loose the forest natural tribe thinking.maybe even that's why most should just skip much porn and make their own, or don't watch apps and stuff online, maybe. If it's not for meeting up in real life. I mean, it would be real bad if most just was looking for attention online more then real life. That would be way twisted progress. Gotta be honest about it. Another maybe "wierd" example, is if let's say some lesbian online showed her body and intimate parts online, but would never ever think of showing that in real life to some dude... I'm not sure why i would pay that attention online to be honest. It's probably many situations with tech... Needs to be healthy and natural, all i'm saying.

The search results do not explicitly state why Dean Kamen is sitting in a wheelchair. However, based on the information provided, it seems clear that he does not require a wheelchair for mobility himself. A few key points: - Kamen is the inventor of the revolutionary iBOT mobility device, an advanced wheelchair that can climb stairs, balance on two wheels, and traverse rough terrain.[1][2][3][4] - As the inventor, he likely sits in the iBOT wheelchair at times to demonstrate and test its capabilities, rather than needing it for personal use.[1][3] - The results describe the iBOT as providing "uniquely human characteristics" like standing at eye level and going anywhere, implying Kamen as an able-bodied person does not require it for basic mobility needs.[1] - There is no mention of Kamen having a disability or medical condition that would necessitate use of a wheelchair for himself.[1][2][3][4][5] So while the results show images and videos of Kamen seated in the iBOT wheelchair he invented, the context strongly suggests he is using it to showcase the device's innovative features and mobility, not because he personally requires a wheelchair for daily activities due to a disability.[1][3] As the iBOT's creator, he is simply demonstrating the pioneering product he developed.
