I have been searching this type of video/content since days. Let me tell you, m a salesforce developer, but even then I lack in security terms which are carried out in salesforce. I have seen all your security videos, and yes they are really useful and i dont think you have missed any of the things regarding security in SFDC. I have really learnt a lot from this particular video. I was totally unaware or had a misconception about OWD. But you have made it real clear and easy. Thanks a lot. Some points i want to highlight: 1. What is manual sharing check box in OWD ? 2. What is "full access" and from where it is set (video timing 43:45)? 4. There is a limit on creating sharing rules on a particular object i.e. i think 50 or 100. Dont know exactly. Try to add this in your video. 3. I think you have not mentioned how a record is shared with the help of code or you can say sharing a record dynamically. It would be real easy if you create video based on this in your security playlist. And again a big thums up to such a wonderful, easy, 100% security covered video. Hats off!!

No Doubt that your content and theory is good but I would suggest that ..Give more practical demo for each and every point you explain... So that public can have better understanding of concept.... Well Done.
@SalesforceHulk7 жыл бұрын
Hey Swetketu, thanks for your feedback. Can you please elaborate that what do you actually mean by practical demo? Is it more practical examples/scenarios or the demo to show how it gets implemented?
@shwetketurathod74947 жыл бұрын
Salesforce Hulk yes More practical scenario would be helpful to understand whole thing clearly... For example if you are explaining that by doing so and so it will not allow user to edit then for that you can show demo that actually doing that we are not able to edit record....... Practical demo always long lasting in our memory.....

I have a few question. Since sharing button is not available in lightning so will the user will actually be able to see the record in lightning experience if we have created manual sharing rule. And second question. So if record owner gives full access to another user then he'll also be able to share the record using manual sharing. My question is how can we give full access to another user?
@sagarrathod68733 жыл бұрын
46:15 in sharing rules if we select Roles and Sub-ordinate, how come the people above in role hierarchy will not get access ? (And what if object is having access Grant access using role Active) , Those are 2 questions please answer separately

At 7:45, you say Record level access is determined by combination of Obj, Field and Record Level (most restrictive wins). Then at 8:33 you say only Obj level and Record level determins access(most restrictive).... So is Field level security comes into consideration or not?
@AJAYPATILAM4 жыл бұрын
Hi SalesforceHulk, thank you for the great conent 2 questions 1) you were not able to find "share" button for the record in lightning , does it mean that manual sharing is not possible in lightning ? 2) if we share a record using RH, sharing rules, manual share and if the user profile does not have access to the object ..the user will still NOT be able to view the record.. is my understanding correct ?
@hemantachandra69626 жыл бұрын
Nice start but bit confusing, so after going thru different site what i understood is the object/Field level security say if you can access that object to view/create/edit/delete record or not, however, record level security try to say is whether you able to make changes to record that you donot own... please correct me if I am wrong :) cheers

Make the case object private, then no users will be able to see each other's record and then define role hierarchy and sharing rules, so that same profile user's can see each other's record .

I have a doubt, hoping you'd clear it. If both Permission Sets and Sharing Rules are to open access and open-up OWD restrictions, what is the difference between permission set & sharing rules where both are used to open up access to records with Users?
@premsingh-ki2pi5 жыл бұрын
basically permission set are used for open the security level on object level and field level bt sharing rules are made for open the security on record level

why is pricebook object not visible in sharing settings?
@unboxingcheck3 жыл бұрын
Ian wants only his team to have access to the custom price books, so he sets up this security by granting sharing access. But before doing this, he modifies the organization-wide default setting for the price book object.
@kuhinooralam67256 жыл бұрын
Hello Hulk, please explain what are the uses of public read/write/transfer and public full access.....Thanks in advance!!
@unboxingcheck3 жыл бұрын
Public Full Access: This option is available for setting the Campaign object only along with other access options. Through public access the user can have the ability to search records, reports, add related records, edit details of the records and can delete the record. When the Campaign object is set to public full access, all users in that organization can be able to view, edit, transfer and delete. Public Read/Write/Transfer: This option is available for Leads and Cases objects only along with other access options. When lead or case objects are set to public read/write/transfer, then all users can view,edit, transfer and report on all the case and lead records.

Hey Shrey, I have a query- Suppose at OWD a object X has Private and Profile level it has Read/Edit. So will a user of that profile can read/write?
@SalesforceHulk6 жыл бұрын
That user will only be able to read/edit the records of which he is an owner.
@mohammadhaaris77566 жыл бұрын
Thanks. So as per my understanding OWD is applicable to records owned by other users only? Suppose If OWD is Private and in profile it has view all access for an Object, so user cant see other's records?

Users will be able to see all the records of that object irrespective of whether they are the owner or not if they have View All permission on profile for that object.
