Actually, I think that you are a great teacher. Having the camera placed above you is really helpful to see clearly all the steps you are taking to make each flower. Thank you, Salina. ❤️

I’ve tried crochet & knitting for years. My mother in law started to tech me but she’d go so fast & certainly wasn’t patient. Just watching you do the circle just taught me how to do my first successful circle. I could hug you. Lucky I’m home alone because I did the happiest squeal. Thank you Salina ya little Gem. I should come out for a holiday & hire you to teach me everything.. 😋😋. 💃💃💃💃 happy dance. 😊😊

Your mom has a good idea, the fleece backing. Double flowers would be way too heavy I would think but it's whatever you would want for your bed or whatever you are going to use it for.

I like to use fleece to back my granny square afghans.. Makes them less "breezy".

Also flowers with front and back would snag on a lot thing.

I love your temp blanket so far! So cool. I think your filler flowers should be white. You could even do them white petals with a black or brown center( like a traditional daisy) then you could get a fleece or flannel daisy backing to match maybe. It’s going to turn out so awesome! Love seeing you daily.
@coffeenut9154Күн бұрын
you are so talented love all your creations and as far as joann goes stock up tell jared it is a needed expense lol and you just have to find room maybe shelves in the spare room to stock pile the yarn maybe for a filler color use white and the middle any color that would look nice your not using white as the base flower so use white for the flower and whatever color for the middle

You explained everything very well. I’m gonna make a temperature blanket this year also. I have been recording the temps each day but haven’t started it yet because I can’t make up my mind what stitch to use. I will share my work as I progress.

for the fillers, you could do white petals with random colored circles? **ETA: you could do the average temp of the month as your circle color!

I Googled what people are using to back a croched temperature blanket. Most people are using a soft cotton or flannel cloth. Then putting stitches all over the blanket to keep the backing in place. Just like backing a quilt.

For your filler flower how about do flowers with 6 different color petals that way is the same colors you have

I have wanted to make a temperature blanket, but have never done before. But I haven't seen 1 done like this before, but it looks really neat! Is this how and where I get started? And is this something that someone that has never made a (temperature blanket) before can make? I have crochet and knitted before, but (sorry) again have never made 🥺Thank you for any help or info. you can share or give me
@salinaalsworth_ak16 сағат бұрын
This is my first time doing it too, so this is a learning curve for me every week! I would say it has been very manageable so far, and the flowers are not hard to do once you get the hang of it! I’m hoping to show how I join the flowers together in the blanket in month #2

@@salinaalsworth_ak Thank you, and can't wait to see how it all comes along! I also love that you live in Alaska. I have always wanted to go and see it, and your temps. will be in a much larger numbers. P.S. I forgot to ask with me getting started so late, might you know how I would or could find out all the temps. for the month of January ? Thanks again

I was thinking fleece also. Does that yarn brand make a variegated yarn? If so maybe try that as your filler flowers?
