Tour of The Farm Lodge on Lake Clark Resort, from inside the different style of cabins.
The Farm Lodge on Lake Clark Resort is 5 generations of our family sharing southwest Alaska with people from all over the world. Come vacation with us: www.thefarmlodge.com
This video was recorded at the end of May 2022, so there are a few updates (deck has been added and the pavilion is finished and TikTok was banned but is now back), but everything is the same! :)

I just happened to find your Vlog here and I am delighted to see what has transpired since I and two of my hunting buddies were clients at The Farm for a self guided hunt in September 1986. Glen was our operator and pilot. We stayed in the cabins for several nights between our very successful hunt and a following backing trip to Lake Contrashabuna (sp). Glens’s children were young. I remember Tom indication of who was 13 I believe and Chantelle and a sister. I am 81 now but my memories of that trip are so vivid. Thank you for your tour. ❤

Thank you for showing me what I could have been seeing every day. I almost came up to Alaska when I was 18. Why I changed my mind is beyond me. Your place is as beautiful as you are. If I ever do get up there I surely look up your place for a week or so. Take care and be safe.

I know you get electric from generators, but where do get water from? I'm sure the pipes to any kind well would freeze in winter.
@tacrewgirl
@tacrewgirl Жыл бұрын
I know in some cold areas with well water, they have heated electrical lines that go to the well to keep it from freezing. However I don't know what they do here.

Salina, could you extend your season by heating the cabins with small wood stoves? Beautiful. How is your avgas resupplied? I am guessing that every thing is not flown in. Best
@tacrewgirl
@tacrewgirl Жыл бұрын
The avgas is flown in. She shows this in another video. It's not on the road system so EVERYTHING is flown in. I don't know if it's connected by navigable water. It's more logistics and costs than just a wood stove to extend into the winter season. I'm going to guess that the guest cabins aren't insulated enough for the subzero weather and that the water lines get blown out at the end of the season to prevent damage and busted pipes.
@tomm2812
@tomm2812 Жыл бұрын
@@tacrewgirl I wasn't suggesting a year round operation. Just adding one or two months to 'summer' operation. I did see that some supplies are barged in. AV Gas perhaps? Flown-in is big $$$. Likely too summer help returns to school. Best
